I'm currently finishing up painting my Salamanders and I'm looking to boost up the green. they're currently sitting on caliban green base with 4 thin ass layers of kabalite. I really like the tone but I think they need a little more green. Would a couple of thinned down coats of waywatcher green or a custom mix help? I have also toy'd around with possibly using Tamiya Clear green really thinned down.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

yes the green glaze will help.
just remeber it need to propely dry before you see any result.

thanks for the tip, I'm probably gonna use the glaze thinned down and do a couple of coats.

You could also try a green ink or wash.

I did put a coat of Beil-tan green on but it just didn't change the tone enuff towards more green.

An ink wash might work, I'll have to paint up a test spruce.

When you are saying you want the Green to be more rich: What are you trying to achieve? Are you trying to get the Studio Salamanders scheme? Caliban green is very blue toned and the studio salamanders are a warm green.

I think that Warpstone Glow or Moot Green is the closest to the old Snot Green color scheme, highlight with some yellow mixed into the midtone, edged with bone maybe, shade with some dark red mixed into the midtone.

I'm not going for the studio color green, I like how they're recognizable as Salamanders, but I want it to be a diff green than everyone elses. I tried out an edge hilite of sybarite and I like it, it's just if the kabalite was just a lil less blue, I think it'd pop even more.

hence why I was thinking about a glaze.

I did my exodites in green, I primed black, did a heavy white drybrush, then gave them a good green ink.

There is a Sepia wash over the whole things when I was done painting details. If you want a good green you probably don't want to do the Sepia wash.

Tale of Painters recommended making a green glaze and then slowly layering it up while blending

Worked well for my Salamanders, gave them some good depth...at least imo
