Tough Tyrant Guard






So I love the new Nurgle models but I have a hard time with their relics and Warlord traits. Deathguard on the other hand have amazing Relic / Warlord Traits and they have Mortarion.
This is what I was able to build for this



Outrider Detachment

180pts - Deamonprince - Deathguard - 2x Malefic Talons - Warlord (Rotten Constitution) - The Suppurating Plate (Relic)

102pts - 3x Plague Drone

looking into deepstriking the GUO to get him right in the thick if the action

Epedimius is there to make everyone get stronger as the battle rages, the Bilepiper works well with the Icon, adding a spell to give an additionnal -1 to hit should allow this unit of Plaguebearer to survive a pretty long while, I know that considering the amount of buffers I have I should have had 2 units of Plaguebearers but I cant quite find a way to make that fit without losing the buffers or the models which are the main point of this list (Morty, GUO, Deathguard DP, Epidemius).

I think this could still work

Lots of casters and deniers (7 each)
Decent speed with Morty, DP, Plague drone and deepstriking GUO/Nurgling, the Plaguebearers should be reasonably fast too (averaging 11.5" by running)

You can only have 3 detachment at 2k points.

Plaguebearer I think need support. I think if you run plague bears, you kinda wanna run a plaguebearer army. Otherwise just take nurglings.

Similarly the sloppity bile piper really wants to be in an almost all nurgling and GUO w/bell and maybe even a second guo woth sword sort of force to really get the milage you wanna get with that.

That is not a problem, Morty can fit in the Supreme command Detachment. Otherwise seems like a nice and interesting list.
Also I ve made a list and tried it with nurgle oblits in spearhead detachment. They seem to be great for buffing epidemius.

Killing is easy. Being politically correct is a pain in the ass...

where do we find the rules that we are only allowed 2 detachment for a 2k army? I have never played like that and have continuously posted 2k list with more than 2 detachment without anyone ever mentionning this.

is this just a regular tournament rule?

no it's in the core rules under matched play. In the very first opening page 2k point list only get 3 detachment. 1k pts get 2 detachment, and i don't know about 3k.

ah perfect, thank you.

I do like the idea of obliterators to help get epidemius's taly higher, actually I would like to know how many shots they get as my enhanced version codex on the Ipad does not actually have the statline of their Fleshmetal Guns. this is an error I was hoping they would fix but I still dont know what Oblits really do despite having officially bought the codex. In the same vein of understanding what Oblits do: did they also forget to add a melee weapon in the enhanced codex or did the oblits lose their powerfist they used to always have?


I am considering losing the Sloppity bilepiper as I am thinking it might not be worthwhile and a single plaguebearer to get 2 more plague drones, I think it would be more worthwhile.

sloppity bilke piper doesn't really get useful until you ahve like 12 or more nurglings. That said i'd drop him for another squad of nurglings to kind of expand your area of influence. You could keep the battalion bu moving the a poxbringer down... actuayl why do you ahve two poxbringers and a guo

Come to think of if you want the GUO in the battalion so you can get access to the nurgle locus. The characters in the all nurgle daemons detachment are the only ones thay produce a locus aura.

With spare point you could also get some gnarl roots. 1 you deploy normally and 1 you deep strike in up the table. this way you could spread gnarl root protection.

2 battalion done, tons of troops to board control, you just miss 1 poxbringer and some drones, 1 large unit work better than 3 small, 1st for kill points, 2nd you can buff with psy powers stratagems a large and more dangerous unit. Then if ur goal was play a Dg Dp keep the outrider detachment.

Why not give the GUO the bell? you'll regain a lost plague drone/nurgling/plaguebearer on a 4+ every turn if they're within range. The drones and nurglings in particular will like get a lot out of that.

The executions will continue until morale improves

I do like the bell but losing the Bilesword is a heavy loss for this and I feel like this list needs more heavy hitters more than additionnal survivability. The difference in damage output is huge, easily averaging 4 times more damage.

BTW I like your list Blackmage, I would take a a scrivener and a poxbringer instead of 2 poxbringer to get the additionnal mobility which I find your list lacking a bit but side for that seems really good
