Hello everyone! Im new to Dakka Dakka and wanted to post my Space Wolves i been working on lately and maybe get a few opinions about it to get some ideas flowing. Still waiting on the new codex so things might change in the future. Playing mostly casual games with friends that are playing necrons, khorne marines, chaos daemons, eldar and thousand sons. So here is my list!

Consider turning that Droppod into Lucis Pattern Dreadnought Droppod? It is 80pts now and would likely to make your Axe and Shield Dread a real distraction carnifex.

I would also consider switching Stormfang Gunship into Stormwolf with 2 Lascannons. It will allow you to transport those pack of BC with WP into combat while Drednought can be dropped with Lucis Pattern Drop Pod.
Also, I recommend Wolf Lord Battle Leader on Thunderwolf with TH and SS instead of Wolf Lord.
In your roster, there is also lack of shooting. Heavy and light to deal with horde armies. Razorbacks with TLAC is allways a good option.

Quick thoughts...

Grey Hunter min/max 5 man squads are good. Twice as good with Dakka Razorbacks to ride in...

Blood claws are best in big group in a flyer OR outflanking with a hero and the wulfen.

Njall is a far better value than your tune priest.

Wolf priest is fine IF he goes in the flyer or outflanksnwoth them blood claws.

Really, there are some strong named heroes worth using this edition. Njall, bjorn, Arjac, etc.

Thunderwolf cavalry are generally bestes by wulfen in most regards. The only thing they are better at is chewing up hordes.

Fenrisian wolves I would split into numerous squads to have 2 deep strike denial units.

I like the venerable dread. Like him better accompanied by a Buker or thunderwolf iron priest. I like bjorn and Murderfang even more!

Wolf guard Termies are good min maxed... I prefer to use swords to be even cheaper. Assault canon isn’t a great value and having a couple shields saves a lot of coin.

I like the wulfen setup. I am starting to prefer 4x hammer and shield and no axes, but I like this setup as well and it’s slightly cheaper. Just depends on where they are going.

Final thought. List looks fun. Use wolf guard bikers this edition.... storm bolter + combi bolter + storm shield....
Lots of shots. Them + bjorn + two twin canon razorbacks makes for some nice hail of bullets rolling up the center of the map.

Thank you all for the great feedback, got alot of ideas to think thro from your posts now. I been very tempted lately to get my hands on Njal for the termies to drop with, and a few bikes. The dakka razor as you say might be the better pick here. Is that droppod your talking about forge works rules ?

No, I’m talking about the foreword stratagems “fire and fade” and ”webway strike” being used on mass dark reaper spam lists. I think the reapers are great without but with those rules, they are downright terrifying. I’m still not convinced it’s crazy OP, but massing reapers in a casual game isn’t the friendliest route.

Seriously, Njall with Runic terminator armor is a beast. And bjorn is so fun right now. Lascanon Heavy flamer and true claw, can’t be target if he’s near a squad, gives everybody re-rolls to hit, is perhaps the most terrifying thing in melee(that isn’t a lord of war), gives a free CP, etc. him + dakka bike squads and the grey Hunter tanks make a fine spearhead.... lots of dice.

He is costly (I believe 270 with those weapons)

Also Arjac is great to roll with the Termies. He’s a fun hero. Glad he’s actually an HQ now.

Arjac also buffs TWC and wolf guards, take him if you want to field multiple units that can get that +1A.

I agree with a number of points already made. Bjorn is great. Turning the drop pod into the 80 point FW one to carry the Dreadnought is a great idea as well.

I personally do not like Blood Claws. With the point reduction in chapter approved there's almost no point to take them over another Grey Hunter squad.

I also would change your razorback load out to be the assault cannon. Even with the point increase, the amount of dakka combined with a GH squad is formidable.

I also agree with changing the Gunship into a Stormfang Transport or whatever it is. Carry the Terminators or Wulfen in it and guarantee a charge for them.

I stopped using my flyer. I’ll just spend cp to outflank the wulfen and deepstrike the terminators in... flyer tends to underperform in my meta. Also it’s ugly, so....
