Hey, I've been looking to getting hive guard for a while but wanted to know if their cost in currency and points are worth the actual troop

That's tough to say without more info. I won an ITC tournament with 2 units of hive guard in my list. They performed well enough. They're a threat. If your list can produce multiple concurrent threats, you're doing it right as Tyranids. But they don't fit into every list. I don't think they're strong enough to build a list around.

Oh man all of this sound soo good. "They are a balanced unit that have a place in a proper list when you use them well, but they aren't so good that all your strategy will be based in spamming them". How envious I'm of the Tyranid Codex.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Forcing a 40k player to keep playing 7th is basically a hate crime.
