Quick question - I've played a few years of Dwarves and wanted to see if most local areas were okay with Legion of Azgorh

I have never seen them not be ok.

I played them last year for my campaign army. Expensive but a lot of fun to paint.

They are a cool army, but are not competitive. They are a very meh army.

Their gimic is their warmachinea and once you take out even one, you cripple them heavily.

I was looking into small elite armies that I can paint to a high standard to beat up my majority Sigmarite local play group

It'll also be a treat since no one plays them to show up with Azgorh

They will struggle against stormcast if the stormcast players are playing min/max lists.

That's kind of like saying "the high school basketball team is really going to struggle against the Golden State Warriors." A casual list will always struggle against a min-max list.

A min/max chaos dwarf list is several steps below a min/max stormcast list.

Or... the min/max chaos dwarf list is one step above a high school basketball team and on par with a casual stormcast list lol.

One thing I wanted to do, but because I wanted a more competitive list I backed out of.

Run a chaos list, and then run slaves to darkness chaos warriors and felglaives behind them. That way your warriors can act as a tar pit because man, chaos warriors are probably the best tank/tarpit unit in the game, save for phinox guard.

Also also, for super easy/cheap fire glaves if you don't want to buy forge world, is buy thunderera, chop off the Handel of the hand axes they give you, and glue it to the end of the thunderera, makes pretty cool fire glaves. And if you really wanna get creative, chop off the top half of their help, and then glue a push pin with the tip cut off for old school chaos dwarfs hats.
