The customer needs to buy TAG and a corresponding pilot (unless proxying or using suitable marker) either way to be able to have a complete representation of possible model's interactions during the game of Infinity?

How much does or would the consumer benefit from buying both of the models individually as opposed to a complete deal, assuming the customer does not want to proxy?

Looking from the perspective of a new player, what's better, to buy the complete deal at once or buying a TAG and later possibly realizing that he or she needs to buy another model to go with it?

So, repackage them so I get to pay more, but CV makes less profit? I think even a Spanish business would reject that idea as poorly conceived.

I'm not a fan of either YJ pilot. I'll probably continue to use my de-bladed ninja as my pilot, or I've also considered buying the Gecko Pilot instead. In either case, I don't need the price of TAGs to be higher, thanks.

CB is a Galician business anyway.

This O-Yoroi is a nice mini, much nicer than the Luxumbra release. Although I foresee it a PITA to paint with that sword. I have a habit of bending them while painting, especially those that hang over the base. If I get a Guijia, I would get this O-Yoroi to proxy for the pilot, instead of the Guijia Pilot.

The minutemen look functional, as expected. Gecko Pilot and O-Yoroi pilot are the nicest of the month. A decent month of releases, but I do not see any superstars.

I like both of the O-Yoroi pilots, so I'll likely end up with both.

Nothing else I'm a huge fan of this month, so at least my backlog won't grow.

Sure, buy why would or should the company suck up the cost? if they offer them as bundled box the price should go up.

I wouldn't be shocked at all if at some point in the future when all the pilots are released and their rules are cemented in an actual rulebook rather than just the TAGLine rules, they will start to consolidate the pilots into the TAGs as people who have TAGs by then will have had ample opportunity to buy the pilots they need.

And when that day comes, a bunch of people will piss and moan that the price on TAGs went up.

I think I'll need to stop trying to understand your angle of thinking, no hard feelings.

I think the annoyance would be minimal, if they'd announced a time frame of transition. TAG/pilot box is something I think it makes sense as both models form a complete product (similar to G:Sync models), otherwise I'm quite fine with more blisters as opposed to more boxes.

It is quite simple really, Kan suggest CB should add pilots to the TAG boxes at no extra cost.

The TAG pilots beyond the one off costs of been designed and sculpted have the recurring costs of moulds, materials, man-hours on casting, packaging and a slight increase on the package shipping cost, why would a company not pass all these costs on the product if the TAG box becomes TAG box + pilot, it only makes sense to do so after all the costs exist.

The TAG box would increase (and should increase) in cost and people would complain about it since it would make the TAG box more expensive than it already is.

I don't understand the assumption that CB would or should eat the cost either, that's not how businesses operate unless they are specifically doing it as a promo and expect to make up the cost in other ways. I also don't understand how people think they won't eventually be packed together, that's CBs standard OP and has been for years. Look at this month's "new" releases, half of them are repacks of old individual figures combined into a single box. You really think we won't see pilots included with TAGs in a year? And just like these repack boxes they'll go up in cost, but still not cost as much as buying the individual TAG and pilot separately. In the meantime, people that already have TAGs can buy just the pilots and people that are buying new TAGs can pick up both, or pick up just one pilot for multiple TAGs since you don't really need the pilots all that often. But then again we can't get anything new from CB without people (usually the same few people) complaining up a self-righteous storm about it.

Spoiler:

It's honestly very tiring. This whole thread ought to be nuked and restarted over, it's been 26 pages of mostly negative drivel. It's a super downer every time I check in for news ever since the 2017 thread reboot. Infinity used to have such a bright, happy fanbase here on Dakka. Now it's just the same people complaining over and over again about the smallest things, be it new releases that aren't 110% what they wanted or about CB business practices that don't completely live up to their ridiculous expectations. I don't expect all sunshine and rainbows or to pretend something bad is good, but the complainers are drowning out the real problems when real issues pop up and, even worse, it just makes this whole thread a negative place to be. I don't know about others but it's to the point that I avoid this thread most days because it affects my desire to play the game itself. I can't be the only one.

But great sculpts this May in general, I was just pointing that out because I play PanOceania.
And yes, is a little tiresome how the "Infinity news and rumors" is more "Kanluwen critizing Corvus Belli for their business practices". Not that he isn't right in some cases but is just tiresome and offtopic. I suppose next time I'll just spam the report button for OT

¡Saludos Gallego! ¿Como te va, en Vigo? Me has malinterpretado, pero no te preocupes. You'll figure it out. Also, the word salty is a poor substitute for the word bitter when describing how a person may "feel".

ORC trooper is getting ready to reload. That's how I viewed the mini.

The easiest way to keep this thread about news and rumors is to post about the news and rumors. Refrain from participating in another cycle of recycled complaints... (Oh geez, did I just sort of quote Coldplay. Shoot me. Shoot me now.) And really guys, if you want nasty, visit the monthly speculation thread on the official forum. I did. Sometimes I have poor impulse control and do foolish things. This is a thread of sunshine and rainbows in comparison.

So we have the Ayyar coming next month, in preview form anyway? Some time near the end of the month we should get some hints about the GenCon Special.

Re-listing the renders seen recently, minus the ones that have been released:
-Bagh-Mari HMG
-Zhangying w/Combi and goofily sculpted greatcoat.
-Airborne Ranger with Molotok
-Highlander Grays T2 rifle in starter box(?)
-Mormaers T2 rifle in starter box(?)
-Caledonian Volunteers box or in starter box(?)
-Sukuel Command w/ML
-Hassassin Ayyar
-Riot Grrls and the megacephalic tinbot box
-Danavas Hacker

I expect something Caledonian this month. And the Ayyar, as mentioned. Other than that, no clues.

There's also a sniper shot of a painted base with what looks a lot like a Khawarij boot standing on a peice of Al Fasid armour. They haven't shown renders for them, however. There's also another sniper shot showing what is very likely to be a Haqqislam rifle or Marksman rifle with a black coat/cloak.

I'm hoping these are pointing to a Ramah Taskforce army box and limited ITS sectorial list like they did for USAriadna at gencon.

Spoiler:

This, basically, and the comments above from Kalamadea. I get in, look at the pictures, and try and get out before finding out why the models that look stunning to me are infact terrible, and CB hates us.

What I really don't get is those that seem to have such a CB downer are so, so knowledgeable about the game - every model, rule, tactic, counter, what's new. what's next - certainly far more than I know. And they are of course entirely entitled to their opinions, and those opinions are certainly based on a great deal of knowledge.

I see

1 - one of the best model ranges in the hobby
2 - one of the best rulesets in the hobby
3 - stunning scenery
4 - books that are mainly optional
5 - a company still run by those that are into the hobby themselves

and I love it.

Only replying because Kala said 'I can't be the only one'. Nope.

What do you find disappointing about her? She looks kick-ass to me.

I'm not BrookM, but I think she's extremely disappointing.

I'm not going to complain about anyone's bootleg line, because display pieces appeal to different tastes and I'm not going to judge. But when a company is trying to sell a playing piece to a tactical battle game I expect the playing pieces to fit into a tactical battle situation. Which people rarely attend in high heels, garter belts, with their butts hanging out and a giant unnecessary boob-window in their uniform.

Especially compared to the Gecko pilot. Sheesh.

It doesn't even look like her sword is in motion. It doesn't look like she is doing anything other than striking a static pose with a sword. Which is sad because CB is usually pretty good at sculpting a sense of motion, but I guess on this mini the gormless otaku-luring Akiba cosplay was more important than making a piece to CB's usual standards.

If it helps fluff wise, Gecko pilots have the old master slave systems, like scarface were the "plugs" are surgically inserted and the body does not need to be exposed, in contrast to the more advanced pilots were the interface is inductive needing more exposed flesh to interface.

I think peoples issue is that CB fans like to position them as being this great customer focused alternative to GW etc

However CB are a bussiness and as such have practices that are just as shonky as GW in some respects. Flip floping on scale, going crom well designed hand sculpts to copy paste digital sculpts, selling invalid rulebooks for full price, overreliance on LTD editions to sell pre orders.

Let's look at the TAG pilot thing Tags (Which are exspensive mostly due to CB's desire to make them in metal which minimises there costs) suddenly require a pilot in some instances to make them actually playable and CB encouraged this with Tagline.

CB and Psy....there supporters are previously on record stating that they have to sell you a boxset of 3 models you don't want so you can get the 1 you want for reasons which don't include profit as they are a small company and selling them this way is really to your benefit and we should be grateful.

Now there saying they cannot possibly sell these 2 items together because it would either make the boxset to exspensive or that you actually want these and as such they may loose out on the profits they can get from you buying them separately.

There effectivly arguing opposite points at the same time again which while always fun to watch is not great for customers whom they obviously consider a bit stupid.

I love Infinty and even understand mostly why CB do stuff it's just the grubby way they and some of there supporters/employees try to justify stuff that rubs me up the wrong way. From falling back on nationalisim when criticised to the plees of were only a small company when that is there choice or my favorite were.doing it for the (real) fans.

I want practical. I can ignore sleaze. But sleaze disguised as practical is like trying to sell me what I don't want while telling me to my face you think I'm too stupid to see the difference between the two.

Couldn't agree more with you. Militarily the 'older' style would be more functional than the 'newer' were an ejected pilot is as good as completely dead without armor or even hazardous environment equipment (space and alien planet).

I definitely get the feeling that the stripper pilots came before the back tracked fluff explanations for it. I will continue to carry that belief until I see a male pilot in a cut off muscle shirt and banana hammock.

Yup.

Well, to be fair, more jealous than bitter. But I'll be the first to admit Spain has some if the best painters and sculptors in the industry and the hobby. My earlier comment about "...even a Spanish company..." was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. For the most part I like that CB follows its passions first, even though that sometimes may not make for the best business decisions.
