Very nice work, always great to see a group shot. I gotta say I've only seen the other space marine aircraft and thought it looked terrible but that one looks really cool!

Thanks everyone,

@Gobert: I agree on it needing more blue, just a hard choice of where to fit it in.

This update sees a few characters that i have painted up.

First up is Chaos' very own Holga Clovenhorn, I gave her a bit more presence with another of the AOS hero bases. Her eyes look maddeningly wonky in these photos...I may have to revisit her:

In answer to your other question Gobert the Lions are not going anywhere, but for now it will probably mostly be Templars, starting with the Castellan:

Finally is High Marshal Helbrecht, must admit that I am proud of this one:

Yeah the Templars are awesome, the clean details & more weathered surfaces work so good together!

Great stuff. Helbrecht does indeed look awesome. The tones on Helga's armor go so well with the hair. And that shield! The Castellan is an interesting model. His proportions almost make him look...cute?

Very nice job on Helbrecht. Can I get a shot of his bionic sword arm? I here he misplaced his other arm . You did a fantastic job on the metals.

Huge work, looks absolutely fantastic. All three are great looking sculpts and your paint job has done wonders on them. I really like the bone colour on the castallen.

Nice start on the Templars, Helbrecht is a very cool centre piece mini.

You're really knocking it out of the park! Helbrecht is great, but the shoulderpad on the Castellan is a beauty to behold

Thank you everyone, much appreciated. The past few days have all been Lion based, the Templars are on hold until the new year.

First up are a few character models, one that I purchased in the summer of 2017 and the other bought last week...contrast.

So the Primaris Ancient was bought the day of release of Dark Imperium way back in the summer of 2017...glad to finally have got him done. The head isfrom the Deathwatch Veteran kit.

I also bought the phobos Librarian via the Imperium magazine from a local Forbidden planet, nice sculpt and I am glad to have added another librarian to the force:

One from the "you never see those on the table" is the Whirlwind. A quick job just to get it done, it defintely needs some weathering and a bit more detail work but it is ostensibly done:

I also set about completing some units, I have had a spare couple of intercessors stood around forever waiting for their battle brothers. So I painted up the Sgt with thunder hammer and a couple of battle brothers:

I also added a further 2 Bladeguard to the 3 from Indomitus to round out the unit to 5 men now, I am really happy with how these look:

Finally is not a new miniature but I refreshed Ekene Dubaku's paintjob a bit as he was looking a bit tired:

Thanks for looking!

Cracking work mate, really like the contrast of the black on the phobos librarian between the camo cloak and the armour. The blue steel look on the thunderhammer is nice too.

Today is a good day because Today is a Celestial Lions day! What a treat, all that’s missing is an Army shot or 2…

Highlights for me are the added regality (my phone reckons that’s an actual word!) that the red tabards and cloaks bring the Dubaku and the Bladeguard. The Whirlwind is a nice classic addition too, even if it never sees battle!

Blimey, it has been a while but i have not been idle. I clocked in at 323 miniatures painted for 2021 so I was happy with that,

The year has started alright so far, I managed to paint 31 miniatures in January and have done a unit of 5 Dire Avengers this month. No real detail shots, but here are my Black Templar and Eldar (Lugganath Craftworld) armies. Most were painted this year bar the Templar characters I showed towards the end of last year. These are some mobile pictures uploaded via the dakka gallery (not sure I am happy with the quality of the pics)

Given how quiet the blogs are I have also started an Instagram account @celestiallion40k if you fancy giving me a follow.

Welcome back! Eldar, Eldar, everywhere. I love it. They look awesome. The Templars have a great, classic look to them. Excellent pics.

Very nice Eldar, very striking yellow...
Also liking the sort of parchment white you've used for the Templars shoulder pad, instead of the bright white you normally see, makes them look closer to some of the artwork that I remember (poorly, haha)

Eldar, Eldar everywhere but not a drop to drink?

Love the Eldar, the yellow is very nice. I'm struggling to think up an Eldar scheme, I think it's going to end up being yellow..

The yellow on the banshee hair looks really cool, nice different style.

Is everyone getting yellow? It is orange

Given that it's Lugganath, I figured orange with some highlights. The color is much clearer if you click over to the gallery.

Those are some great army pics and great to see the contrast between the dark, broody Space Marines and the bright Eldar.

Changed it to orange now...

Cheers everyone, with February in the books it is time for my monthly update.

Last month was mainly Templars and Lugganath again. 22 miniatures painted to take me up to 53 for the year.

Monthly shot:

And my only non Templars/Eldar a Lion Captain with double fists and the store anniversary Kruleboyz miniature:

So Templars first, was really happy to get my Sword Brethren and whichever variant of the Gladiator tank this is done:

So then onto the Eldar. First up are 2 Autarchs, did a bit of kitbashing between the old and new kits to come up with these:

I also painted up the new Rangers, as we all know bright orange is great for camouflage :

I also painted up a unit of 5 Dire Avengers, but have no decent shots of them on my phone to hand. So finally is a Spiritseer, with traditional glossy helmet (that sounds wrong)

Have already started my March painting, and my new Eldar pre order arrived yesterday (Guardians, Warlocks, Maugan Ra and Dark Reapers) so I have plenty to do.

Thanks for looking.

Fantastic stuff LTMW, the orange on your Eldar is stunning. The vibrancy on that rangers mask is great. What colours are you using?

I’m also loving the highlights for the black on the tank, no idea what colour you used to make it slightly minty.

Amazing minis. The Eldar all look great, and I am a big fan of the 2-fisted Lion.

Depending on the world and its flora I'm pretty sure the orange Rangers will conceal themselves nicely Great update and it's fun to see the contrast between the dark blocky marines and the elegant bright elves.
