I am interested in creating a small inquisition force for 40k. Which books contain the rules for Inquisition forces?

Cheers

Carl

Thanks mate.

Do you know if its possible to combine Inquisition and Deathwatch?

Yes you can. You can combine any Imperial force with any other but they lose certain special rules if you combine them within the same detachment.

Thanks I appreciate it.

However, at the time of writing, Deathwatch and Inquisition don't lose anything for being in a soup detachment.

You lose out on some pretty filler throwaway rules from Chapter Approved, but nothing important. Even then, you can always mix detachments, so even when there's bonuses for running pure Deathwatch, you can still run a Battalion of them along side another detachment of Grey Knights or Sisters or something.

Best thing to do imo is pick one or two factions for your main forces, say Deathwatch and Astra Militarum. Then keep each of those forces in a pure detachment. Say an AM Battalion and a DW Vanguard. Then take an Inquisitor in an Auxiliary Support detachment.

Gets a mixed Inquistorial force whilst still getting a decent amount of CP and not missing out on any special rules for your troops.

Thanks for the advice all.

I will be honest its more than anything so I can paint a bunch of different model ranges and still theoretically play at some point.

Happy to sacrifice effectiveness for that.

In addition, Inqusition can use any <Imperium> transport, so for some of them you'll also need appropriate codexes and/or Indexes
