Will you buy this set?
I will.
I would if I played this game.
I will not, because I don't like the models.
I will not, out of principle - it is a bad idea to encourage companies to charge so much for so few models.
I will not buy this set, because it is too expensive.

Simple poll.
I will buy this set.
or
I would buy this set if I played this game?
or
I will not buy this set, because I hate the models.
or
I will not buy this set, out of principle - it is a bad idea to encourage GW to price things so high.
or
I will not buy this set. It is too expensive.

NOTE that you may choose more than one option, for example: I will not, because I don't like the models AND out of principle AND because it is too expensive.

Please, in comments, suggest how much you feel is an appropriate price for these models.

$140 is insane. They should be more like $40-50 in total.

Well it's about standard GW character prices. They really need to drop this "plastic for everything". Either way that's not useful for 30k so no wouldn't buy it even if it was 10$

Bear in mind that’s not a discount collection, and their character models have been £20 per for a while.

I would only buy the one for my faction of choice, rather than all four, assuming I actually played AoS

Even that is insane. It's not worth more than $5-$7 per figure (at MOST) - so $20 to $35 for the four.

It never ends well

Typical problem of plastic, the less models you expect to sell, the more they cost.

We already see this with characters costing a lot, and this is just more of that.

This. I don't get why they don't make more metal or resin characters.

These are crazy expensive even for plastic GW characters though. They all look human-sized, but they're 20% more expensive than the most expensive Eldar foot character.

It is too expensive and I'm not planning to play the game. From a collector's point of view, I don't want four random models

Although, the goblin model is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm getting the death character for my army. At $20/ea maybe, at $35, no damned way. Thankfully the others don't match my AoS armies.

If they aren't going to have options (same issue with new 40k characters) then they either need to drop the price or use finecast.

5$ for character models would not be financially all that viable. They don't sell sprues all that much since you don't generally sell more than 1 per customer anyway so price for mould would not be recoupped for years if ever.

Are those special characters(ie 1 per army max) or not? Special characters costs even more as they sell even less per customer(who has more than 1 archaon? Tyrion? Mephiston?)

Ebay or China for me at those prices. Even if my self-esteem was low enough to think that they were worth that much, I literally can't afford it. Priced out totally.

I would never pay 70$ or more for a box that includes less than 15-20 models, let alone a kit with characters of different factions.

The most expensive GW product I've bought in 20 years was the stormwolf with a 25% price off, backed by an ork battlewagon also with a 25% discount. I'm not willing to pay more than that for a single box.

To be honest I wouldn't even pay 30-40$ for a single hero, I'd rather convert the model if I want to field it.

This poll is lacking options.

I don't buy the set, as I don't have use to (all of) these models.

I will probably buy the Sigmarine individually though. Maybe the Warqueen too.

Furthermore, why is this in the 40K section? These are AoS models.

Tbh, it's only because they've lumped effectively 4 HQs together. An HQ often costs a quarter of that separately (which these as well). If you buy a Primaris Captain, Librarian, and Apothecary, the price per model is comparable.

I thin £9 is a good price for hqs. The inquistorz in 40k at about £9 each. I bought all my marine hqs online new for about £3-5 each from ebay.

At that price GW is really encouraging conversions

This feels more than a little disingenuous. This is not a bundle kit, it's a one-click link for four different kits each priced at $35. That's become the standard price for a unique HQ/Hero model from GW.

This is like... twice the highest price one should expect.
I don't play that game but if I did, I would convert, wait for an offer on ebay.. stuff like that.

Bit should it be? I see is offer and demand but...

Generic characters disappearing? Elite units of your army losing options and customizations? No longer finding that motivation to convert?

If I played all 4 of those armies I'd be hard pressed to buy 4 special HQ's for $140. I could see it if they were each highly customizable and came with a lot of bits.

Even then, of the set, I don't really like any of them. The warqueen looks a lot cooler than her male counterpart [though that's admittedly not saying a lot, he looks awful], but would benefit greatly from a good set of chainmail. The stormcast looks really silly dual-wielding hammers, and the other two are just plain ugly.

Though I still have to wonder why they'd sell single characters from 4 different armies in a collection. Unless I played all 4 armies, I'd just buy the ones I wanted individually.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

The Inquisitors are also older models, many of which no longer get sold with their Retinues:

This guy for example used to come with a full retinue for $30. He's now $16 by himself.

Same deal; now he's $19.25 solo.

$16 in resin; always was sold solo.

$15 in metal--hasn't had a price bump as far as I'm able to recall. He might have gone up from $12 or so.

$25 in plastic or part of a boxed set of 3(technically 5) characters for $80.
Cawl is $55 solo in plastic and Celestine is $55 as well.

So if you wanted her and had a use for the other two(which it's Imperium stuff, why not!) you'd get her for free if you bought the other two(55+55=110-80=30).

With regards to these Harbingers? They're intended to be unique characters (but can also be generics down the line as the Warscrolls don't have specific names on them!) and get a fancy box. Despite what some people might claim, the fancy boxes do actually figure into it depending on how they're set up.

It's important to note this.

GW markets their 'bundle kits' different to their one-click links. If it's a legitimate bundle kit, they make it damn clear by showing off the box in the previews.

That's debatable, but to imply that the link is to a bundle box of four minis priced at $140 instead of a one-click link isn't accurate.
