Just before Xmas we held our traditional 28mm WW1 Mesopotamia game, this time involving a Turkish attempt to cause some havoc amongst and encamped British Force.

We used Toofatlardies If the Lord Spares Us rules and I have put together a Scenario post for those who game the period to use as a basis for a game if you fancy having a go.

Lots of pics etc as you would expect and links to a detailed AAR.

I really think this is a fascinating part of WW1 history which is ideal for gaming.

Enjoy

Very nice. Inspires me to crack on with painting my Ottomans. Some of those building look like they could be from the (now long OOP) Snapdragon 'Adobe' resin range. Is that so?

It is George, what a great range it was, shame no one picked it up.

I thought I recognised them. I have a bunch of the 'adobe' walls and archways. These pics are great inspiration for giving them a new coat of desert themed paint.

I see you also have some Gripping Beast Arabs in Ottoman service there as well. I was thinking they would also be useful as the former POW Arabs who fought with the British. I'm not actually sure what they would have worn but giving them all new uniforms may have been quite a logistical problem. Uniform wise they look similar to Artisan's Sharifan infantry.
