Guys this was a top 10 list at LVO... not sure how this is possible to make it Maggotkin allegiance. When I choose Maggotkin on the AOS app, Marauders are not a battleline choice unless you pick allies. Any ideas? Maybe the list was a typo and is actually a Chaos list?

-Leaders-
Glotkin
GUO

-Battleline-
10x Chaos Marauders
10x Chaos Marauders
10x Chaos Marauders

-Other-
40x Monks
40x Monks
30x Monks

Artillery-
1x Plague claw
1x plague claw

Maggotkin Allegiance is only Nurgle Allegiance. Maggotkin have a key word but the overall army is the nurgle key word. So Marauders in a Maggotkin army can be battleline because they are battleline in general and have the nurgle keyword.

Best Painted (2015 Adepticon 40k Champs)

They Shall Know Fear - Adepticon 40k TT Champion (2012 & 2013) & 40k TT Best Sport (2014), 40k TT Best Tactician (2015 & 2016)

Thats what I thought, but I don't understand why it doesn't work in the AOS app then. When you choose Maggotkin Allegiance, there is no option to pick Marauders for battleline.

Because the app kinda sucks.
Maggotkin is the name of the battletome. It's Nurgle allegiance.

Ahhhh got it to work, thanks a lot. This looks like a fun list to run. Unfortunately I have none of the models so making the list would cost me some $$$$$$.

Yeah the app sucks, it's how I run my tzeentCh army, only requirement is a tzeentzch keyword.

This is why slaves are one of the most under appreciated faction, that can go into any good specific chaos army with no issues.

I still consider Slaves to Darkness my primary army even though I rarely run them as a Slave allegiance. They're just so easy to slot into other god-themed armies for extra bonuses!

2000 Khorne Bloodbound (Skullfiend Tribe- Aqshy)
1000 Tzeentch Arcanites (Pyrofane Cult - Hysh) in progress
2000 Slaves to Darkness (Ravagers)

I used to love the AoS . It's stil very convenient, but now I'm really starting to see the flaws.

I've had the opposite. Originally I thought it was absolutely terrible but now I have some lore for my armies I made rather than GW's rubbish and I have an army I'm pretty willing to play it. Although my opinion is still that the rules are pretty bad.

Same boat, the game is a good start but it's too simple, as almost every game comes down to, did you get your wombo combo off first before your opponant. Also targeting characters in a game where everything is synergy based really ruined the game and give a massive advantage to who ever goes second

Double-turn is the biggest balance flaw in the game. Round 1-2 in particular. It's why there is and has been a shooting meta since the onset. Character sniping isn't a problem because of how durable characters are, its easy enough to get cover and keep them far enough away to not get mortal-ed down in one turn. I think newer players come in from other games and build lists without realizing half the characters tend to die during the first half. Once players get more used to the sniping they learn how to compensate for it, character sniping isn't really seen as a major issue by tournament players for example. It's the OP units/double turns that make sniping super reliable that are the problem.

I try to view Warhammer as more of a toolbox with examples than fully complete games.

Agreed on the double turn, If I go second I win almost all the time, and character sniping is really easy if you are a casing army. Get your guy in a bale wind and pop from across the board.

But yeah double turn with shooting is dumb, like the skryre lists with storm fiends are dumb. Lost half my army turn one to them.

I run skryrefyre as my tourney list, it completely hinges on how OP Stormfiends are. It is very dumb.

Heh that wouldn't be good at all for tournaments. The 9" minimum range means no warpfire shooting the turn you show up. Skryrefyre refers to the build utilizing the Clan Skryre battalion with Goutfyre Skorch enginecoven, which lets you bring in the included units in the hero phase, with no minimum range, and they can move/shoot/charge normally after they come in.

No the engine coven let's you pop up 3.1 inches away with out taking any mortal wound

Automatically Appended Next Post:
It's such a dumb build and the ball buster of it is they are still good in melee even with warp fire projectors.
