Hey! I was wondering that with the rise of Necromunda by GW, will Epic spike in popularity as well? The reason I ask is that I have a 3D printer that can spit out some fairly well detailed models (they aren't commercial quality obviously but proxies can still get the job done all the same ). With that being said, I wanted to know about which game I should invest some free time exploring, printing, painting, etc. There are files that are free to print for the games respectively, and I already have a converted scavvies gang with some proxy zombies. The decision is based on whether I should continue to support the gang or explore epic/battlefleet gothic? any thoughts?

At the moment Necromunda is heavily supported with new releases every other month or so.

Epic and BFG is still 'dead', however there is a 2nd digital game coming for BFG.

For 3d printing, you would make miniatures closest to the original for Epic and BFG.

I would go with Necromunda, I think it's more fun in the long run. If Epic and BFG is re-released, I might jump on that too, but not at the moment.

Firstly, buy into whatever game you can actually get opponents for locally.

Second, don't jump the gun on future specialist game releases - we know that Epic will be gettign a scale change that will make old models useless, same could be true for BFG (plus BFG is getting a setting change that will also invalidate almost everything)

There is a pretty big and thriving 3rd party market for vehicles for Epic and BFG at the mo. If you have a look at the TaccComms forum link in my signature, have a look in the Epic 40k FB group and have a look online there are already a few people selling components and vehicles. That being said I definitely think there is room for more.

Generally my advice would be Necro since the rules are in print and new models are coming out.

Certainly having a 3d printer changes things, there's pretty complete files for the Imperial fleets on Thingverse and I would bet the same can be found for Epic. And there's plenty of free rulesets for both floating around.

If you have players for BFG or Epic go for it, otherwise stick with the game people can actually get a hold of.
