Are Sanctioned Psykers officially part of a military wing, thus use standard uniforms, or are they given a bit of autonomy in regards to their duties, apparel, etc?

My motivation for the question is that I'm not a fan of the single Sanctioned Psyker model - The lone option is metal which makes it more difficult to convert. I was thinking of grabbing several different models and converting them so I have a bit of variety. Several of the Inquisitor models have an appropriately wizardly look, along with a few minis from other game lines.

The fact that they are HQs seems to designate them as people of some importance which may indicate some autonomy, but the rules don't always line up with the fluff, and I prefer to keep my models fluffy.

Depends on the Parker and the army they are assigned to. Some are high ranking, others are kept.chained in cages
