after I am done painting my current army I am thinking about making a chaos gunline army for 2000 pts. focusing on alpha legion and slannesh units. I thinking maybe 3 20 man blob cultist squads. 0ne 20 noise marine squad. 3 havoc squads with either autocannons or missile launchers. maybe 2 sonic dreads. lucios , and 2 sorcerer lords. would probably use a battalion , spearhead and maybe a vanguard if I stretch it. if not use the sonic dreadnoughts then I could go bikers with plasma. instead of the havocs I could go full lascannon preds. or dip into the forgeworld some more and get rapier battiers with either quad heavy bolters or laser destroyers.. what do you guys think. help me form a list.

C-Beam cannons are 72”. One of the most potent defenses in this game is being able to outrange your foe, especially if you want to go gunline. When used on a Rapier they can be quite dangerous. Such a weapon could be run in units of three, meaning your VotLW and Prescience would affect three simultaneously, and all would benefit from the Alpha Legion trait.

Alternately, run a handful of Alpha Legion Tzeentch Decimators, each with paired C-Beams. Flickering Flames one with Changeling, who sits behind and provides a 6++. Terror at 72” on reasonably sturdy chassis, able to gun down vehicles and hordes alike, all for a low low price.

You cannot use VotlW on them it only work for infantry and the rapier are vehicules.

I forgot about leviathans and twin butcher cannon arrays...
