Im i wrong to think that a unit with <LEGION> Death Guard wont Synergise with the rules from the Actual Death Guard Codex?

Like, If I take a Sorcerer on Palanquin from the Index with <LEGION> Death Guard , I wont Gain my Death guards special rules because I wont have a ''Death ghuard'' Detachment composed of only ''Death Guard'' Units.

He would also not gain the benefits from the buffs that affect Death Guards models?

The whole KEYWORD thing has me confused sometimes ahahahah.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I think they do synergize, like how CSM with the DEATH GUARD <LEGION> would synergize with Typhus in the Index.

As is explained in the Chaos Space Marine codex, you cannot use Death Guard as a <LEGION>. This is because you aren't supposed to use Chaos Space Marine codex units to represent Death Guard, they have their own codex for this.

But units from the Index would still be able to synergize wouldn't they?

Yes, the Designer’s Commentary sets forth how this works on the last page of that document.

You do seem to be confused.
Index Units which can replace their Legion keyword with Death Guard such as the Lord and sorceror on palanquin or the FW units do so. The Legion keyword becomes Death guard for all purposes.
So of course they gain the death guard special rules.
