I have a question about the Tau relic from Chapter Approved. When the Puretide Engram Neurochip says it allows you to "re-roll a single hit roll, wound roll, or damage roll" does that use of the word "single" mean you re-roll one die from the hit roll or do you get to re-roll one, single hit roll(which could be any number of shots based on the weapon)? I feel like it means just one die, but I am confused since you can only do it once per battle if they are saying "single" to try to emphasize the fact that it can only be done once per battle. Thanks!

It means you get to reroll 1 die only.

Each shot from a weapon with multiple shots is still considered a separate attack, and worked out as such.

Not true. You re-roll the entire 'roll'. For example, the Damage roll for the Heavy Rail Cannon on the KX139 T'aunar Supremacy Armour is 2D6. In this case you would re-roll both dice and not one dice of the roll.

No, I'm talking about the specific example the OP is using about a gun that fires multiple shots. You don't get to reroll the hit rolls for all the shots, you can only reroll one.

Again, it depends on how many dice the roll consists of. Your reply may have een technically correct for his example (which I'm not really sure was an example) but it really didn't answer his question.

OK. Since I seem to have made this confusing for everyone, let me get more specific to see if we can break it down more accurately.

Say my commander with this relic has two burst canons. Each burst canon is Assault 4. When I attack a target with both guns I roll eight hit die for the purpose of speeding up rolling; however, technically, each weapon's attack is resolved one at a time, so would that mean that this relic allows me to re-roll all four die for one of the burst canons or would it still be a single die from one weapon only?

In this example you are making 8 hits rolls, and may re-roll any 1 of them.

I had the same situation today against a T'au player, he claimed it was a reroll to all the hit rolls for that weapon, I disagreed because I have the same trait (albeit a Warlord Trait) for my AdMech and I always read it as a SINGLE die roll. However the translation in French can be confusing, although it's clearly meant as a singular, no plurals. That way he rerolled all four melta shots. Does anyone have a real written proof on how it's supposed to work out please ? I let it slide that time to not drag the game in length but as I lost I'm a bit bitter
