I have tried various ways but I am struggling to get them laying flat.
Any pointer would be appreciated.
Thanks

Gloss varnish the surface 1st & then use microset & microsol (https://www.amazon.co.uk/MicroScale-Industries-Decals-Setting-Solution/dp/B06XS3KWHK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1519046175&sr=8-1&keywords=micro+sol&dpID=51QrID339eL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch)

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Microsol / Microset are the usual recommendation. I couldn't find it on sale locally and ended up trying Humbrol Decalfix. This also works fine.

In addition to the methods mentioned (they totally work) you need to trim as much excess material away from the actual decal design.
