Hello everyone!
New edition, new army. That's what they say right?

First a little story about me, I'm a returning 40k player that started playing and collecting back in 3rd edition (Orks). Since then I had a couple of dark years and when I returned to the hobby I started playing Warhammer Fantasy 8th and then went on to other games such as Warmachine, Inifinity and Malifaux.
I made a quick dip into 40k with 6th but that didn't result to much.
Now with the release of 8th I'm excited to get back into the grimdark world of 40k again.

I've decided to go with the Adeptus Mechanicus since I love the model range and I've always been a fan of the weirder more disturbing parts of the empire (admech, inquisition etc.).
The theme for my army is that they are an exploratory force sent to a forrest planet to look for a lost artefact rumoured to be there. The army will showcase them tracking through the undergrowth of this lush forrest planet (think Endor).
It will be heavily Skitarii based, mostly because I like that part of the Mechanicus more but also because it makes sense thematically.

The color scheme is Mars, because that is how Admech always been presented to me and it's such an iconic and striking look imo.

Well enough talking here's my first test model that I finished over the weekend.

I have painted some more models for my AdMech force, I'm almost finished with the Start Collecting box.

First up are the Rangers


Then I painted the Techpriest Dominus, really happy how he turned out. Such a cool model, but very fiddly to paint with all the cables and whatnot.


My Onager Dunecrawler, I have magnetised all the weapons so I can swap them out dependent on what I want to field. Debating if I should put on some transfers.

I'm working towards 500pts so I can play against my co-worker who is painting up an Astra Militarium force. Looking forward to that.
