Total noob, so looking for suggestions. Thanks

For a friendly game this list looks pretty good. If you switch to competitive, dropping Magnus is a must. The upside is that asthma is just as good really.

I would suggest taking some different powers with Magnus if you use him. He gets a +2 to his psychic tests when on the first bracket of his wound chart and it would help you get off some of the more difficult to cast powers. Also if he is your Warlord then he knows a 4th power as well. If you plan on trying to run him into combat Warptime would be a good one for him to know. But like what was already pointed out in a competitive game unless you get first turn he will probably be wiped out turn 1.

I think it's pretty telling that almost no one on this board has ever stated or encountered people actually trying to pull off nonsense like this. So it really boils down to epeenery.

Thanks for the feedback.

In case I wanted to try and make a little more competitive, what would I drop Magnus for and change up with the list?

So I'm very new to the game, four sessions under my belt. But this list just won against a competitive list. Might've just been an isolated incident, but it offers a lot of tools and is surprisingly nimble.

Ahriman on a Disc
Terminator Sorcerer
Exalted Sorcerer

3x Minimum Rubric Units

Scarab Terminators
w/ Hellfyre and Soulreaper

Chaos Predator
w/Lascannon
Chaos Predator
w/AutoCannon+Hvy Bolters
Chaos Predator
w/AutoCannon+Lascannon

Keep the Scarabs and the Sorcerer Lord in reserve, and deep strike them to where his most vulnerable threat is. In my last game it was his leadership, blew his HQ escorts off the table and charged in to tie up the leadership. I gave the sorcerer Lord my Dark Matter Crystal, so once they wrapped up their targets I was able to redeploy them to he main fight.

The tanks are each tremendously threatening on their own, and we have several strategies to enhance them. With the exalted closeby to reroll ones and buff/heal them, they make excellent distractions as well. Also, since the exalted was going to be far away from the fighting, I bought the Helm of the Third Eye for bonus CP.

Which leaves the rubric units to claim objectives in cover and, between Weaver of Fates and Glamour of Tzeentch, it takes about three times the points to dislodge them. And because they're so small, and there are such tanks on the field, theyre easy for your opponent to disregard in the early turns.

Ahriman I loaded up with all the moral wounds spells and used him as a harrowing assassin, punishing anything that went off on it's own. And because he was also my warlord, he lived through the counterstrike that my opponent could muster and flew back to his Exalted buddy for a healing spell.

I'm still experimenting, but it worked it's first game. And as a bonus, it's both a Battalion AND a Spearhead, so extra CP.
