I decided to enlist for a tornament this sunday and the inscription terms were expired so they ask me for a list in an hour.

I looked at the models I had painted ( almost ) and a minimum of effectivness and I produced this:

Abbadon
Termy sorcerer, combi plasma , warptime, weaver of fates
Termy sorcerer, combi plasma, delightful agonies , death hex
Warpsmith with combibolter

3 x 10 brimstone
3 x 10 cultist

7 termies with combiplasma and axes

3 obly

Death guard Deamon prince, warlord with suppurating plate and arch contaminator, Putrescent Vitality
3 bloat drones with plaguepitters

11 CP

I have a respectable amount of CP, useful for buff Abbadon and double tap with terminators.

The plan is to run run with drones and the prince, hopefully to get CAC with Prince unscathed and to do some damage with the drones, which cannot be ignored as with the reroll of arch-contaminator can deal an insane amount of damange

Second turn I'll drop the termy group and after a double overcharged tap with the termies I hope a multicharge with them to buy time for abbadon to charge something worth in CAC.

I tried this list with obliterators instead of termies but I think that a multicharge is much more useful than a slightly stronger fire phase with the obliterators.

Abbadon has all the marks so can receive: delightful agonies, weaver of fate, Grandfather blessing AND you can double his fight phase. As he halfs all the damage received he has a great sinergy with the Agonies and with a 3++ is really hard to put down.
In a phase he can dish 12 str 8 -3 attacks and 2d6 str 5 -3 attacks at the expanse of 3 cp.

Thoughs? Someone has already tried the Abbadon + bodyguards combo?

i tried just abbadon+9 oblys, btw termies arent bad, im my list playing demons as 2nd battalion i use letters as heavy CaC unit not termies, btw if you make your Dp warlord you cant have +2cp's from Abbadon you need make him warlord to get that bonus, in any case i found Abbadon pretty effective when surronded by lot of cultists like 40+40, making them immune to morale and rr any hit roll, they become very annoying considering how cheap they are.

Stupid battlescribe, did not noticed the error...
I know that with cultist is much better but didn't have sufficient cultist painted and I prefer to bring only painted miniatures to tournaments.

I tested yesterday against a pure Astra Militarum with baneblade , Pask and two Russes and huge amount of infantry:

- managed to pop off the baneblade first turn, otherwise would be an hard step to climb BUT the termies sucks :-( they have to overcharge their plasma to be able to destroy a low but they also suffer from the overcharge since double one on a big number of shots happens.

In the first double tap I lost two of them. The side of the table on which I deepstriked was completely clear in turn Two, leaving obly and termy without targets and the guard player was able to cancel a lot of the brimstone and the cultist.

Point wise is better to bring Obly than termies

390 for 2 units vs 408 for 8 Termies:
Obly
24 shots str 8 -2 wnd 2 on average, with 36 shots with double tap at 24"
Termies
16 shots str 8 -3 wnd 2, 32 with double tap at 12"
--> you COULD be able to charge but it's an hard try without Warp Time and if you shot at something usually it's within 12" of the termies and will be dead by the fight phase
--> you lose on average 1 termi for the overcharge

Termies are better force multiplier as the whole unit can benefit of Agonies or Veterans of the long war or other stratagems but it's more vulnerable: with two wuounds each you will lose more model per wound than obliys and the efficiency will decrease steeply.
Oblys are 18 wounds vs 16...

Termy are overcosted :-(
