Huh, they're definitely different, but I rather like them.

"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me."

"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks

Gotta say, not really feelin the design. It's not particularly attractive or inventive to me.

I like them. The armored spacesuit look works for me. When will we be able to get some?

Honestly, I think it is the metal itself that pushes them into the "love" category for me. Their overall design and the metal is just giving me a 1990s miniature vibe that tickles my rose tinted nostalgia glasses.

Thanks for the comments.

Resin: It has a lot of tiny parts that would cause bubble problems.. but it may be possible to make a version with the tiny parts already in place.. That would reduce the customization level a bit .

Basically: rahter than have the arms separated from weapons and bracelet/forearm plates, there would be various version of the arms: Granade+guantlet , sword + guantlet (both, right and left handed), Rifle with side plates (right & left option) etc etc.

The legs actually are 3 parts: legs + butt plate + inguinal plate.. in the simplified version they would be all together in 1 part

The union you mean? or the piece itselft? They would require some extra superglue in the beneath/hidden face of the visor, where it is glued to the helmet, to make a bigger contact surface.

That way it cant resist normal handling and transport. I have held it on my hand and made it bounce repeatedly (as if it was a stone) with no problem.

I like the aesthetic, would hate to put them together. Seriously, how much filing and green stuff would be needed?

The important part to fill are the arm joints, since the arms joint ir rounded, and the torso part where the arms go "inserted" has a bit larger space, that allows to put the arm in many positions, you just would need to put a "ring" of green stuff around the joint surfaces to fill the space. generated by the torso larger "hole" . You can see this happening in the Missile launcher picture, the one at left.

I really like the aesthetic of these suits. Are they going to be crowdfunded or released at regular retail?

In 3 weeks aprox, they will be released regulary via online store. We will accept paypal payments. We will shipping from south america - Argentina.

The shipping costs up to 500grs are 17usd "normal" / 25usd "registered" - up to 1kilo is 30usd normal / 38usd registered. Each models weights around 40grams with resin base, so a tactical squad of 7 units will be about 280 grams an require 17-25 usd to ship.

When we have more setting/fluff developed and more 3D models of units ready to print, we will crowdfund such units (vehicules, heavier units and other factions)

These look cool. They look nice for some Heinlein bug hunters.

Also, why did you guys change the company name? Didn't you used to post about these as Menhir Games? I'm not implying anything, just curious.

Not a problem about asking: we are not menhir games, we bought the rights of these 3D models (you wont see them anymore in menhir games site/face) and will pay their 3D sculptor for more models since they needed money to pay debts. The Astral Sailors development was close to what we (another local wargaming group) were developing as setting, so we adquire them as starting point since they were already done. From now on the next models will fit the aesthetic but will be 100% our design.

Very cool!

Aside from their own setting, I can imagine these being a really cool force to use for some type of early Great Crusade/30k force, proto-marine armour and proto-marines fighting on the moon or on the outside of a ship or something

In the setting, it is 27th century, but yeah you could extend it to be ... 10K (talking about proto proto marines)? haha

Today i am receiving a painted (not ultra pro paint, for now) model that was painted mostly white and looks like an astronaut

The Sargeant Assistant with Gatling is here! (base not finished). Pictures are a bit blurry because they were made quite fast, with an improvised booth, more serious pictures will be made when squad is complete.

The Astral Sailors tactical squad can count with a cargo bot now. It can be equiped with two micro missile launchers (25 rounds each) or a sniper railgun to support the Sailors while always offering to carry ammo and other usefull bits to the battle field.

The bot strong and durable body structure also makes it a movible defense point offering basic cover.

Inspired by boston dynamics "dogs" family robots
