Hi Guys, Ive been painting up an Imperial Fists army for the past 6 months and as a little break from painting yellow and as a little bit of airbrush practice im building up some "hero" style primaris marines that are loosely based on artwork ive found and fluff that i like.

So far ive done a Crimson fist based on the 3rd ed codex artwork, an Imperial Fist that will be painted up as a Templar and a White Scar which may well be the coolest model ive ever built (pics are on my instagram https://www.instagram.com/veteransofthelongwar/).

So, i have two more models to convert.... Can you guys give me some inspiration based on your favourite fluff / artwork? maybe post it up or a link to it?

Im liking the idea of Iron hands for all the bionics- but dont really want to paint black, also im liking the background of the Scythes of the emperor.

Show me what you got!

I've always loved this Black Templar Sword Brother from the Deathwatch RPG rulebook.

Background? Mentor Legion, all day. (not 'Mentors' as they were re-named, but proper old school Mentor Legion). Great story, neat idea.

Artwork?

My two favorite marine chapter is (are?) the Lameters. The ultimate good guys.

I also like the non-wardian Ultramarines.

Really love that first piece Elbows, properly sums up how giant and relentless marines should be.

The Black Templar is also super cool

I may be in the minority, but I still love the 2nd edition Space Hulk box art, and the Blood Angel color scheme here:
