So from my understanding if I want to field a Herald of Slaanesh on a Steed, then I would need to use the Index version. Would he have access to the full Slaanesh psychic discipline? And also would he receive the Locus of Swiftness? RAW, I'm thinking 'Yes' to both questions, but curious to hear what the community has to say.

I'm assuming that he will keep his version of Unholy Speed which allows him to advance and charge in the same turn, an he will not get the Seekers version of unholy speed which allow them to Re-roll charge rolls.

Yes, the herald will get the locus.

As for the powers, I'm not sure. Given that TSons got access to the updated Dark Hereticus when the CSM codex came out I would say yes.

Also, an interesting side effect of using the Steed Herald is that it's +str bonus from "Herald of Slaanesh" stacks with the +str from the Herald of Slaanesh's "Locus of Slaanesh" ability!

That is a good point. I didn't think about that.

That doesn't work. They both have the same rule, and it specifies within range of one or more models with this ability.

The FAQ's are clear that the same named aura abilities don't stack, but are silent on differently named aura abilities with the same effect. Since we have general permission to apply abilities and those permissions haven't been revoked it works.

They have the same name.

Or, at least, had in the Index. Checking my Codex reveals they changed the name.

So definitely sure that's against RAI, but it does seem to be RAW.

Herald of Slaanesh on Steed has the ability "Herald of Slaanesh"
Herald of Slaanesh had the ability "Locus of Slaanesh"

I'm aware. I noted that in my post, if in less words.

Once again, RAW does seem to be they stack, but that's definitely not RAI.

GW done goofed.

I agree, which is why I noted it as a side effect. I'll be interested to see if the March FAQ addresses it.

Funny thing is, even at S5 Daemonettes are still weaker than bloodletters

Weaker, yes, but still faster.
