As per the title. I have picked up a fair amount of Infinity models from trades over the years, Red Veil and a bunch of Pan O, Haqq and Yu Jing but never really got into the game nor its lore, I went on a hunt recently for more info on the Universe but came up pretty empty. So what is the best place to find the fluff on the universe and forces?

The best source: The books.
The rules, they're free. You want most of the fluff, you have to buy the books. That said, there is SOME fluff available over on Human Sphere:

Aside from that, see if you can find a local group (your flag icon says NZ? There's a few players around).
Players who've been in the game a while will often have copies of the old rulebooks (the rules are superceded, but the fluff for the core human forces is mostly the same).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Yes, indeed - all the books have...all the fluff.

The catalogue has the fluff for the individual units at the bottom of each unit. Most of the overall fluff is in the hardcopy rulebooks (they have a separate book of just fluff when you buy the physical books). Also, the RPG is now out from Modiphius, the main book is about 500 pages, probably the best source of fluff now

Yes, but you will need the N3 rulebook AS WELL as the human sphere book (which is an expansion book, not the main rules). Both of these sets come with a fluff book and a rule book (the human sphere one lists the ADDITIONAL rules to the main N3 rules)

In addition there is a comic, an ITS (current tournament season book), the rpg by modiphius.

Cheers all, how very confusing. So the rules are free and the fluff costs money, the human sphere book is over $100 in NZ and I cant even find the rule book for sale.

Different fluff. The fluff in the Infinity rulebooks focuses on military, while the fluff in the RPG focuses more on society.
