Hello, I'm Nate.

3 year player here. Joined because this is one of the most active sites I've seen for Warhammer, and why wouldn't I want to be part of that community?
This year, my focus has been playing WH40k Death Guard. Last year it was Necrons.
I'm pretty solid at painting, edge highlighting is probably my weakness, washing my absolute strength.
I play at a competitive level, but haven't really 'gone for it', and I like making well rounded or cheesy or fluffy lists.
I've painted over 20,000 points worth of army, and that doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. There's always a new model to throw on the heap.

Likes:
Warhammer 40k
Underworlds Shadespire
Pokemon GO
Long battles on a 6x4 that take an evening and are filled with much laughter.
Painting
Modelling miniatures.
Filmography (drones and gopros)
Coding

Dislikes:
Grey/primed models on a table.
Spare points left in an army list. It's like leaving money on the table.
Aggressively Competitive players, who doesn't tho amirite?

Armies:
Necrons ~10000. (Cold, unfeeling robots. Including 18 'scorpion modded' Wraiths who want to love up on you but they have razor claws for hands. :( )
Death Guard ~ 6000. (The new hotness. )
Spacemarines ~10000. (I have a crush on Girlyman and also drop pods...)
Tyranids ~ 10000. (Kraken color scheme)
Dark Angels Redemption Strike Force Terminators ~ 3000 (gotta have the options)
Space Wolves ~ 5000. (I don't even like space wolves)
Eldar ~ 10000 (not much of this is painted... I don't really enjoy them. Got a killer deal on a trade for them tho.)
Shadespire - all clans.
Imperial Assault - All models, all expansions.

I live in Seattle, and I'm usually at the large events, so see you around!

I WOULD EXPECT NOTHING LESS FROM THEE, THE GREAT nATO SICARIUS!

"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls. When firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time, all beings stuck in a neverending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession. No one is able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the materium turning the warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry.. Then there will be enough dakka. Or, at least almost." -The Glorious God Emperor of Mankind

Is it the gross overuse of the word wolf in their codex? As much as I like SW it's hard me to look past that, not to mention werewolfs in ceramite...

I'm new to the Grimdark PNW as I just moved to Portland recently but there seems to be a fairly large community in the region as a whole.

Welcome to dakka.

Re: Spacewolves... now don't get them wrong, I respect a wolf world that basically drops their wofl young into the wild with wild wolves in order to 'naturally' grow into a more wolf-like mindset that their Wolf Lords require. They'e got good lore. Nothing against them. They've got a flying landraider and multiple EXCELLENT assault units but the wolfyviking wolfenstein names just dont do it for me. I've found in playing against them that the playstyle is simple to anticipate and counter since they televise their roles so loudly. Brb, I need to wolf my wolf.

Wolves rules everything around me, gotta gotta wolf y'all.

I get it. Back in 3rd edition when I first discovered TTG and 40k my first army was DA. The lore around SW and DA is what originally got me interested in the fluff and they can be a really imposing force on the table top. I've thought about playing a SW army quite a few times but I usually stop at thinking about it because I see a space marine fully clad in power armour riding a wolf or a werewolf wolf-ing in the name of the emperor. I would have to invest a lot of time converting models to effectively de-wolf them to a more reasonable level of Wolfy-ness-ness.
