Hey this is my first post in this forum aswell as my first time making a list that is trying to remain fluffy and combat effective. So any and all criticisms are welcome, but I don't really want to start from scratch as I've painted about half of the army already. So without further ado here is my 2000pt guard list

Brigade Detachment
Armageddon Regiment

HQ 1999 pts

Company Commander 35
Plasma Pistol, Kurovs Aquilla, Draconian Disicpline

Lord Commissar 59
Power sword, plasma pistol

Tempestor Prime 45
Tempestus Command Rod, Deathmask of ollinaus

Troops

Infantry Squad x4 72x4
Vox Flamer Lascannon

10 Scions 157
3 Plasma guns Plasma Pistol Vox

10 Scions 133
3 Volley Guns Plasma Pistol Vox

Elites

Command Squad 61
Standard, Medic, Vox, Heavy Flamer

2 Squads of 3 Otryns 2x90

Fast Attack

3 Armoured Sentinels 3x60

Heavy Support

2 Leman Russ Battle Tanks 2x180
Lascannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons

Heavy Weapon Team 33
Mortars

Dedicated Transports

2x Chimera (for the ogryns) 2 X 102
Heavy flamer Multi Laser

2x Taurox Prime 2 X 132 (Scions)
Battle Cannon, Auto-cannons

The general idea is two infantry platoons plus the command squad and mortars stay put while the chimeras and Taurox drive in the Ogryns, the Lord commissar and the other two infantry squads into objectives/ good positions. Use the sentinels as harassment and support for those while the Russ sit back with the Company command, scions deep strike into the enemy deployment if they push to close to me, Tauroxs push up to support, and hopefully force the enemy to commit any assault troops to pushing forward and being destroyed from behind, or heading backwards and never reaching my main bulk

Sorry in advance if I've posted this in a format that is hard to understand, my last experience with 40k was 5th edition, but having read the new rules I was hoping this list would be versatile enough to deal with most things. Also am I to understand that any model can get into dedicate transports this edition? Thanks

transports can transport anyone with the [infantry] tag.

Thanks, do you have any other feedback on the list at all?
my plan would be for the chimeras to be shared between the ogryns and infantry squads and the Tauroxs between the other infantry and the scions after they deep strike.

You might want to drop the lascannons on the Infantry Squads.

Firing ports are no longer a thing, so you can't shoot out of chimera's.

Sounds like a good strategy, but vehicles are super durable now, you can't blitzkrieg them in one turn like you used to. You have to be prepared to get stuck in.

Thanks for the advice, what would you suggest with the spare points if I do drop the las cannons, just to be clear two squads would most likely not move all game, and the other two would aim to use a turn or twos movement before staying put

I'd put AC's on your Sentinals. Makes them more of a threat/ nuisance and will help them draw more fire. You could also put tank commanders in your lemons.

Just to note taurox prime have a transportation restriction. They can only take militarum tempestus or officio prefectus units. Or inquisitors. So at the moment you've just got the two chimeras for the orgryns. The taurox primes will be have to be empty if you intend to deepstrike the scions.

If you end up jiggling it around to take chimeras instead for your regular infantry squads, consider something more threatening than an infantry squad. 8 lasguns and a flamer don't do much. Special weapons teamss can pack a punch and you can double up in the chimeras. Or if you really want a orders for them, SWT + command squad and officer. Costs a lot more though. But you can fit in one more special weapon. If you had 4 chimeras, 2 with 4 orgryn each and 2 with 2 plasma SWTs each they'd complement each other well. Orgryn messing with standard infantry, plasma hitting MEQ and TEQs that orgryn may struggle with. Oly downside with SWTs is they're elites. So you have to rearrange your list. You could split the scions into 5s and still nearly keep your brigade.

Armageddon does have the goods to make loads of plasma falling out of vehicles attractive.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined
