Finally getting around to setting up my new hobby work space. Still waiting on my third paint rack and currently building a second work bench to give me more space so it's still very much a WIP but here's a picture of it in its current state. Also if anyone has any tips or product suggestions for organizing tools and making things easier and more accessible please feel free to share it with me.

Not really. I have a similar set-up, with a mug of brushes on one side, a mug of files on the other...a lamp on each side. The more rarely something is used, the further away it is placed (dips, etc.).

This looks great! Much more permanent and organized than my set up

Thanks! That was the main reason I started working on the area. I can fill up 3 of those racks with my current paints and having to dig through all the boxes to find the colors I wanted to work with was really getting old lol. Since I handmade the work bench and found suitable and inexpensive racks to hold the paint it really has been more of a time investment instead of a monetary one.

Its way nicer then my set up. you could probably put up some shelves above on the wall for more on hand storage.

That's not a bad idea. I already have the material I would need to build/paint up some shelfs so I might look into doing that.

I hear ya! Looks efficient to say the least.

Friendly tip that I do: instead of the tiered paint racks, i bought verticle nail polish display racks that can be mounted on the wall. They save table space (at the expense of wall space which is usually more available).

I actually looked at a few of those but as they were in some cases more than three times the price (or at least the ones I saw) I decided to test these out. If my paint collection continues to grow - which I'm sure it will, I'll end up going more the wall mounted route I think.

You might want some pegboard for the wall. Nice for tools.

You need a bigger bitz box

Ive got about 40 small really yseful boxes and still run out of space rapidly...

Otherwise looks neat.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

You are absolutely right, sir. I was looking at another bin organizer that's practically 5 times as big and mounts in the wall. Just went all in a airbrush setup this week though so i'll probably wait till next week.

Btw The wounded fire warrior model you did is pretty rad!

Thanks. It was a fun build.

Also I don't know if it's just me but buying storage solutions fills me with an unaccountable sense of wellbeing

I have a stack of bitz boxes labeled for each race/army that way I can keep track of everything, even then it still gets muddled up!

You could get a small rack for some of the tools if you have a large amount of them, pretty easy to pickup in most hardware stores.

Finally got my third paint rack and it's starting to come together. Still need a better method for storing tools. Considering the pegboard idea. What does everyone use with the pegboard so that the tools can hang from it?

I picked up an assortment kit of hangers at the local hardware store. It came with single hooks, racks for screwdrivers, little bins, etc. I also grabbed a set of 3 magnets designed for pegboard

Nice! I'm going to look into finding the organizers/bins for it. There's a reclaimed construction material shop close to me that has pegboard for the cheap.

Personally dislike peg boards.

id say get those magnetic tool/knife strips

easier to set up and keeps stuff out of the way.
