Subject: Xenos Tech adapted to the Imperium?

So the long standing issue with Xenos Tech has been the Mechancius' theological standpoint that the Machine-Spirits of Xenos Machines are "enslaved" and therefore not in line wit the will of the Machine God, the Motive Force, or the Omnissiah.
Of course this hasn't stopped isolated Systems, Rogue Trader Dynasties, Culexeus Assassins, and members of the Inquisition from making use of the technology when it suited their needs.
But given that there have been multiple factions of the Mechanicus that have studied Xenos Technology (the Xenarites of Stygies VIII being the most famous example), one has to wonder if they ever got around
to "purifying the Machine Spirits" of these alien machines.
Heck, i wouldn't be surprised if some advantage derived from Xenos Tech has been passed off as "Archaeo-technology" at times.
But has there ever been an example ? The only thing that comes to mind is the Teleportation Technology displayed in the War of the Beast may have inspired the Imperium's own advances....

There are a couple of bits and pieces in 30k (photon weapons are pretty clearly reverse-engineered from Eldar darklight technology, for instance), but most of the incarnations in the tabletop game are pretty small-scale/experimental (relics and such). Rogue Trader has a few bits and pieces if I recall correctly.

The Imperial teleporter tech seen in 40k is no more capable* than that seen in the heresy era, pre-beast, so I doubt it.
* with the possible exception of Grey Knight personal teleporters, but those are reverse engineered xenotech - probably warp spider jump generators.

Those are or probably ? Is it stated somewhere ?

Sorry, no. As with pretty much everything in the Grey Knights arsenal, it's never stated explicitely that it's xenotech, just that no-one else in the imperium has access to them.

doesn't follow that it's Xenos, just that it's rare.

From the Deathwatch RPG - the Imperium reverse engineered a tau stealth field generator and built a functionally similar 'masking screen' from Imperial technology that is both less effective and vastly more advanced than its tau counterpart.
(the tech was compressed down from something that requires its own suit of armour to a small self contained ornament made of a transparent crystalline substance)

if they managed to miniturize it that much chances are if they kept it close to the original size they'd be able to do even better

Deathwatch has a weapon option that is very obviously derived from Necron tech (Xenophase Blades are unashamedly Hyperphase Swords both in look and function).

The Imperials underlying tech base is absurdly in advance of anything the tau can do, but their understanding of it is... sporadic at best.
40k humans are the kind of people who would use self-modifying nano-locks on a wooden shed filled with nail-bats, home-made shotguns, and the local priests pendent-sized matter-energy conversion force field generator.

Wasn’t there a special character in the 5th E grey Knights codex that used adapted Xenos tech? An inquisitor, I think?

The Ad Mech view xeno technology as a blasphemy to the Omnissiah.
Now if you can grasp the principles, make a steampunk variant and wait a millenia until the Ad Mech give it the thumbs up then you are good to go.
Thing is the Ad Mech frown on innovation.
Wasn't the Callidus assassins sword called a C'tan Phasesword? That's a blatant bit of tech heresy right there.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

They knights have the vaults/traps that the necrons have.
It does not use the words necrons, but they are giftet/traded to keep demons trapped. One of the few ways to get rid of demons.
But it says following that since tencion between 'the once who made it has increased it seems unlikly they will get more of them'. Makes sence for necrons to trade them to who ever does not like daemons. No way humans can reverse enginer them. 5th edition codex I think?

Inquisition and linked groups pretty much only examples I know of.
Xenophase blades, assassins blades. Some of the grey knight tech, there teleporters packs are rather eldar it seems. Not many others I can think of directly. Maybe some origins, but not direct xeno tech.
Mars was messing alot with ork teleporters...
Other tech, they may have revsere engineered quietly.
Though not universal taken as good by deathwatch.

I remember when Rogue Traders and Inquisitors, Navigators and imperial agents had equipment lists. The highest end weapon was the Eldar Shuriken Catapult.
ofc Squat Graviton Guns could be used by SquatGuild engineers or Imperial Tech Priests....but not Tech Marines.

Technically, Blood Ravens in DoW 2 have at least one.
I saw that meme a lot on 4chan but they really look nothing alike. If anything, they are inspired by Necromundan patterns...

The necron stuff that assassins and deathwatch use are 60 million years old so the humans could have been using them since the age of technology so it would only be with the awakening of the necrons that they realise that they are xenos of necron origin. Before that they were just ancient tech?
