EDIT: Rather than starting a new thread, I thought I'd just change this one to document my progress on my Undead warband. It's now more of less complete, with 4 ghouls, Vampire leader, Necromancer, 3 dregs and a dire wolf:

I've always thought Heinrich Kemmler was one of the coolest characters from the old Warhammer lore. I also really love the Mytsic Battle Wizards box from GW, so the two things seemed like a perfect marriage. This is by miles the most ambitious I've ever been with green stuff and I'm really please with the outcome, although I had real difficulty taking good photographs of the finished product.

Looks spot on. Are you going to convert a Krell to go with him?

One of my favourite characters too.
I do still like the old model but this is a great modernisation.

I'd like to, but not yet. I'm probably going to be using him as a Mordheim necromancer, so I need a good vampire miniature. Been really struggling to find one that hits the right spot for me so definitely going to have to convert one. I'm looking at using either the Wight King or Chaos Sorcerer Lord minis as a base.

Yeah. Male Vampire miniatures are few and far between. They always seem to oversell the vampire elements with huge batwing cloaks and collars and oversized teeth. I can see why because without they just look like smartly dressed blokes.
My favourite is 'Dasco the Vampire' from 'Black Sun Miniatures' although he could basically just be a rogue or assassin or something.
There are a few more monstrous types and females that are okay.
What sort of Vampire are you after?

Excellent work my friend! I love the age that the extra hair adds. Keep it up!

"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls. When firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time, all beings stuck in a neverending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession. No one is able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the materium turning the warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry.. Then there will be enough dakka. Or, at least almost." -The Glorious God Emperor of Mankind

I'm going for a kind of slightly monstrous human look. This is a mock-up of what I'm working on, based on the Chaos Sorcerer Lord:

Thanks! Vanpire’s a long way off still, especially with the metal, but this face turned out exactly how I wanted:

Pretty much all done. Does this look like the right amount of blood? My instinct is to add more but I don’t want to go over the top.

I think it’s a good portion of gore and blood. Any more might be overkill

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've completed the ghouls contingent of my warband now. I knew I wasn't going to be able to put as much time into painting these guys as the heroes, but I generally paint for effect/impact over technical accomplishment anyway, so while the details might not be amazing, I'm really happy with how they look in the warband, especially viewed from a 'gaming distance'.

It was particularly fun to be able to let loose with the blood after being quite conservative on the vampire.

Thanks. I didn’t have a very clear idea for ages about where I was going to go with the dregs, but I’m really happy with how they turned out in the end, and with the warband as a whole so far.
