Hey guys, I'm a relatively new painter lookin' at starting a nurgle army and painting 'em up in a relatively decent manner. I've been building since 2012 but haven't really done much in the way of painting, so is anyone able to give me some tips or even just a simple scheme that looks alright? Would be great if anyone could post some pictures alongside a list of paints if able.

Thanks a bunch

g'day, so, first off...which flavour of nurgle are we talking here?
death guard/other nurgle chaos marines?
daemons?
AoS mortal nurgle dudes (blightkings, etc)?

and have you got any particular colours in mind already? or just totally starting from scratch, open to pretty much anything?

...it's good to be green!

G'day

Hopefully this has replied correctly (I don't often use forums)

I'm hoping to buy a nurgle daemon start collecting box and use it both in 40k and Aos (more of a lean to Aos though, potentially blightkings later on too but for now just daemons). I was hoping to find a simple scheme that's of relative ease to paint large units and monsters with. I'm open to anything at this point as I've never really been a painter and this is my first time doing anything nurgle, so just looking for anything to get a decent look without it being too complex

You could try the simple prime white then paint with washes trick.

relativly easy quick and easy for nurgle. and daemon type things

"After giving the model an undercoat of white and letting it dry I applied a wash of Game Ink Sepia all over the model. Once this was dry I did the same with Game Ink Black Green"

Id also pick out some areas with purple, reds blues and blacks in areas and shade bruised wounds and entrails type areas

though for red id personally use secret weapons ruby wash

so personally the way i would do it (as i plan on doing some slannesh stuff in a similar manner) by first priming white, touch up areas with a similar white to make sure you have full coverage, as the blog did id do sepia ink on all the things, then id ruby wash on entrails and pimple area, then purple around it

then green avoiding the more red features but blending it in a little with layers.

haha...Desubot beat me to it...I was just about to suggest the same kind of method ...it works even better on daemons too in my opinion, with their all their assorted organic, fleshy surfaces

here's a quick little video I found that shows it off pretty well on a plaguebearer...it's a few years old, and a couple of paints have been renamed, "sunburst yellow" seems to now be "flash gitz yellow", and "rotting flesh" seems to be "nurgling green"...I think the rest of the names are all still current though...

...also, feel free to go for different mixes of washes using that same method too...you could easily go a lot more blue, or purple, or yellow, or whatever really, and you can definitely even have a mix of colours in the same squad too, no need to keep them all exactly the same colour

Thanks a bunch from both of ya's, I'll have to give both methods a try and see what works out better.

Thanks again
