Pestilent Plague Marine with Blight Grenade

Death Guard, Necrons, Dark Angels and Nurgle Daemons.

Paints is a tricky one, really it depends on what army I'm painting.

Consistently though, Aggrax Earthshade and Seraphim Sepia are the two that I use on every model. Aggrax is akin to cheating when painting.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.

To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."
- Mortarion, The Death Lord, The Reaper of Men, Daemon Primarch of Nurgle

Fav Paints
Kantor Blue - Dark Blue is an awesome color unlike that ultrasmurf blue.
Incubi Darkness - A nice deep green with a tiny bit of a blue tint to it.
Runelord Brass - Use this stuff on most of my army's fancy metal bits. Works well for being both a working metal color as well as adding a bit of bling to it without being outright gold like.

Armies (Primary army color)
Orks (Kantor Blue for Deathskulls)
Tau (Sotek Green)
Space Marines (Incubi Darkness)
Space Wolves (Grey Armor)
Grey Knights(boring silver) / Inq (a lot of black) /Tempestus Scions (Dark Reaper)

"Hold my shoota, I'm goin in"
Armies (7th edition points)
7000+ Points Death Skullz
4000 Points
+ + 3000 Points "The Fiery Heart of the Emperor"
3500 Points "Void Kraken" Space Marines
3000 Points "Bard's Booze Cruise"

I don't think I can keep it to three.

I play Salamanders and used kabalite green for armour, Auric for anything gold & abaddon black for trim.

But my favorite paints are Tamiya clears. Red is my goto for purity seals, it gives them the shiny just sealed look.

Abaddon Black, it just seems to flow really well
Baharroth Blue, looks great for plasma
Gulliman Blue, makes power weapons look "powered" lol

Ultramarines, Ad-mech (Mars) and the start of a GK army.

Mississippi

Prussian Blue - its an Apple Barrel paint and it has a different color depending on the number of layers you put down, from a medium sky blue to a midnight blue.

Gehenna Gold - it's a nice, bright gold

Forest Green - Another Apple Barrel, but a good, rich green

Armies:
- Tau
- Space Marine (homebrew chapter)
- Imperial Guard
- Tyranids
- Adeptus Mechanicus
- Necrons
- Grey Knights (part of my Space Marine chapter)
- Imperial Knights (part of my IG army)
- Eldar

I also have an Orc army and Chaos Space marine army for my sons, which I do the painting for.

It never ends well

Seraphim sepia. Agrax Earthshade. Athonian Camoshade. The holy trinity of washes. I don't know what I'd do without them.

I love thunderhawk blue, it just gives a no-frills, down-to-earth, WW1 kind of vibe. Vallejo black ink is a new discovery, and I much prefer it over nuln oil for recess shading black. Finally, I dig vallejo cavalry brown - useful for faces, leather, rocks, cloaks, etc. Just a really nice midcolour between red and brown.

I play Krieg, Thousand Sons and my Primaris successor chapter, Oathkeepers.

Is it not more of an antidote for mercury poisoning, though? I have never thought of it as a paint

I no longer have a favourite paint, but rather, favourite combinations of paints and/or favourite techniques. My absolute favourite is what I do for bone and/or wraithbone; Zandri Dust for a base, then drybrush Ushabti Bone, and finish it off with a Seraphim Sepia wash. I've done everything from Wraithbone guns to Mortarion's scythe (making it look like a bone scythe) using this process. Here's my most recent painting project where you can see I did this to make the Eldar "ruins" on the bases of these Thousand Sons.

Spoiler:

My next favourite technique is how to do awesome gold trim; Start with Retributor Armour, then apply Reikland Fleshshade Gloss heavily over the area. Drybrush with Liberator Gold, then light drybrush with Stormhost Silver. This gives you a gold trim that really pops on just about any surface, and I've now used it for Thousand Sons, Gulliman, and learned it by painting Magnus the Red (GW's how to paint video).

Spoiler:

Lastly, a technique I'm just becoming more familiar with, is the super-duper-insane watering down of paints to max out their thinness and force them into tiny and mostly transparent layers. Pretty much, I take a tiny dot of paint, and then I fill up two (or more) whole paintbrushes of water. Like so ridiculously thin that you'd think the paint was ruined. I think take small amounts of this and go over the recessed areas I'm trying to hit. It doesn't lose the paint colour behind it, but instead gives that area a type of "glow", and for corners it'll give it a recess. Because it's so thin, my shaky hands don't care if I miss the exact spot by too much, since on a flat surface you simply don't see the super-thinned paint, and if it's a really bad shake that misses the spot completely, it's easy to repair while painting because I can just soak up the paint with a tissue paper. Here's a (bad) picture of a Thousand Son Rubric Marine with the Inferno Bolter's runes done in this technique, achieved only by using black paint and going over it with super thinned down 4:1 White:Light Blue paint mix.

Outer Space, Apparently

Screamer Pink is easily my favourite paint because of its astounding versatility (you'd be surprised how many models can work with dark pink as a primary colour); I'd then follow that with Reikland Fleshshade for what it does to bronzes and golds, and Typhus Corrosion simply for the effect it creates.

I have IG, Orks, Tau, Space Marines, Eldar, and soon Ad Mech and Necrons when Forgebane comes out. My Orks have dark pink armour, and again, you'd be surprised how well that works on them:

I also pinstripe their trousers, like with my Painboy:

There's kind of three, because you can't have any of them from the first list without their companions from the second list.

My top paint is definitely Khador Red Base. I never really realized how much I actually like red until I was going over my armies. Khador, Nomads, Butchers; I even use it on my Deathwatch pretty frequently.

Gore-Soaked Lunatic Witchhunter

P3 'Jack Bone, Sanguine Base, and Underbelly Blue. I tend to paint by layers and glazes, and a good solid undercoat that'll go down nice and opaque over black primer is incredibly useful, even when the final colour has nothing to do with the basecoat you've just laid down. Sometimes especially then.

As for armies I've got a bunch of small forces grouped under the heading of "The Inquisition", plus Custodes, Marines, and Corsairs.
