I really like the Look of 40K Epic but not sure how easy it is for me to get into it. I've done some light research and the biggest problem I think I'm going to find is buying the armies. There seems to be a lot of choices online (people selling like 20 Rhinos for like £5) but they seem to be from all different editions of Epic. They're all the older stuff though and none of it seems to be from the 2003 version of Epic. How rare is the 2003 Epic stuff because that all looks better and more modern than the old 90s epic?

There were essentially two versions of Epic to my understanding. The earlier edition was known as Titan Legions whilst the latter was Epic 40K which was essentially the rerelease of the same game, but with updated models. It also had fewer knights/titans in general and they were simpler to control - in TL the titans had a huge card cutout and power tokens to send power to its weapons and shields per tern.

Also if you are buying into this I've got a whole host of Titan legions stuff and Epic 40K including all the rules for both games. (tried to gak it last year and never got any bites so if you're interested let me know and I'll dig out some pictures of the models).

I've got orks and spacemarines with some imperial.

thanks for the info. Right now I won;t be back in the Uk until the end of this year or next year so i'll have to hold you off on that until now. i'm just researching right now so when i get back i can get straight into it.

I like this! Thanks!!! Really wish GW would bring it back but they'd probably make it stupidly expensive. Like £100 for a Titan or something.... but tbh, I'd pay like £100 for a large epic army if they did bring ti back.

Well, GW/FW might be eventually bring it back, but they'll be bringing back "Adeptus Titanicus" (Titans and Knights only!) first.

If it proves to be wildly successful (fingers crossed), we might eventually get tanks, vehicles and infantry again too...

Glad you like the article lolman1c. It's still very much a work in progress, if there is anything else you need to know about please ask and I'll do my best to find an answer.

I was very much in the same boat as you as wanting to get back into the game and was pleasantly surprised how much of the community is still going (tournaments and events going through the year) and there are tons of miniatures you can start with. I would have a think about what army you want to collect (or maybe even two, one for you and one for a friend to start off) and go from there.

I think it's unlikely we'll see a full Epic range again - remember at one time Epic was the 3rd main system, and sold alongside 40k/WHFB, and there would have to be so many lines released to come even close to what was released previously. But in the meantime there are a lot of companies making suitable proxy these days, and of course Epic sold very well before so there is still a mass of 2nd hand available relatively cheaply on ebay.
