Hey after long time mulling I am going with the VI legion. I will be ordering Russ, and probably getting BoP (love the Mk3 armor) and I seen that only grey slayers are allowed to be the compulsory troops. I'm ok with that and probably will go with the bloodied claw RoW, since I can still use a leviathan! however I get the feeling that I cant use drop pods with it being immobile =/ which if thats the case, what RoW would be good? I'm still reading and learning and trying to really get the rules down, but I am looking for guidance on the way to go! I get the feeling that they want the wolves to be very infantry heavy, which I don't mind. Anyway thanks for any any assistance! and remember

There are no wolves on fenris

Hi mate! Welcome to the community.

First off Drop Pods can't be chosen as a transport option unless you're using a Rite of War that allows you to.

The Boodied Claws RoW is really nice. My friend uses it a lot and it's brutal!

A Song of Ice and Fire - House Greyjoy.

Bloodbowl - Lizardmen.
Horus Heresy - World Eaters.
Marvel Crisis Protocol - Avengers, Brotherhood of Mutants & Cabal.
Middle Earth Strategy Battle game - Rivendell & The Easterlings.

Welcome stripling .

Your going to want to run big packs of slayers even with hunters gait they'll take a few losses getting to the enemy.

Take power fists and a few power weapons but don't go mad I'd have 50% with cc weapons and golfers to act as the screen for your heavier hitting warriors.

Deathsworn don't have models yet so you'll have to convert some but they are a powerful option when paired with a speaker .

I personally like the pale Hunter better when led by hvarl red blade another one you'll need to convert, no one likes 40 slayers turning up so close and red blade is an excellent vehicle killer.

One of SW's best perks is the advance and charge, making you an incredibly fast assault army. Unfortunately running big blobs of infantry (which would work great for 30k SW) is a bit of a bad idea in this current meta. Quad mortars, whirlwind scorpius and sicarian arcus will melt ALL all the infantry, and the armour, and the flyers.

Make sure your local meta isn't too punishing before you commit to wave tactic SW. But you should 100% do wave tactic SW because its the best (both crunch and fluff) way to play them.

Thanks for the advice, sorry for taking forever to respond! Life has kept me busy. I was thinking of getting a few squads of marines in mk3 armor (thanks bop!) And also had the idea of maybe doing something ala firehowlers from 7th. A jump packing praetor which some jumping wolves leading the charge while the slayers with red blade sneak around the flanks, with some other slayers right behind the jumpers! Though idk how successful it'd be.

Just remember assault troops don't count as mandatory troop choices for us.

Oh yea, for sure! Just was thinking of taking 3-4 slayers, and maybe 2-3 assault marines led by chaplain and praetor
