Subject: [1000] - Adeptus Custodes - Valoris or Not?
I'm starting a new army and I've chosen Custodes, mostly because it requires fewer models and will be easier to transport. I have come up with two possible lists to start off with, and I was hoping to get some suggestions on which one would be better, as well as any improvements that could be made to either.
List Two - Drops Valoris (Who I would rather keep but can leave out if people think he's not worth it) in exchange for two extra guys with sword and shield.
In both cases, the strategy is basically the same. Walk forwards with most of the army, using the Vexilla to help reduce incoming damage. I may use the strategem to deepstrike one or two units of Custodian Guard, or one unit of Guard and an HQ.

if you want valoris then go for it, but know that shield captains on jet bikes are almost strictly better in terms of point efficiency, depends on if you're just trying to have fun or if you're going for competitions.

I do like Valoris, he has a cool model, giving re-rolls to wounds is useful and the moment shackle seems helpful to maximize CP usage given how hard it is to get them with this army. For general fun games, I'll stick with the Valoris list, but for more competitive games (although probably not tournaments) what would you suggest? Something like this based on the second list?
