Clocks in at 1959. Where to maybe, spend those 40 odd points ... ? I'm at maximum # of hounds I own, 3 DPs, etc, except Bloodletters. I am reluctant to add a few of them I own to increase the scoring potential because of ITC scoring, thus the units hover at 19 dudes each.

I'm willing to simply swallow the 40 unspent points. Unless someone can spot a good swap here or there ....

Pros:
Otherwise, it provides more than six Deny the Witches rolls. 3 DPs doing heavy character wacking (or BaneBlades) where the BLs might fail, screened with tons of dogs. 3 Easily summoned units of freight-train (glass hammer) BLs. P-Drones for an initial charge to absorb a nasty Overwatch.

Cons:
With really no shooting and little Psy (2 DPs using Smite? Meh. ) it is not a GT stomping list, but it might be a nitch meta buster.

Can any list readily handle 57 BLs in one turn? One unit might have the Banner of Blood, the other two summoned by Daemon Pact ....

25 points on the plague drones having an icon is silly ....

Thoughts?

The problem for bloodletters isn't killing stuff, it's killing stuff that matters. Good layered zonal defence with lots of unit spacing. Particularly with scouts, other nurglings or rangers. This is what screws you! But if your opponent makes a mistake or can't execute then you are in like Flynn.

In a decent tourny you won't charge anything valuable with this list - you will get bubble wrapped out.

Of course, scouts, rangers and nurglings are this list's main hurdle, but in 12 tourney games, the BLs have not had to assault those bubble wrap units.

Flesh hounds do the clearing: 5 dogs readily handle scouts and rangers. 15 attacks on the charge, 10 hit, wounding on 3s (SM) or 2s (elves), yields 7 or 8 wounds. Scouts die on their 5+ (adjusted) and the elves ... ... fold in one go. Bubble wrap is gone and the BLs are green light for Turn 2. Chaos cultists (Forward Ops strategy) have not presented themselves, but with 5 units of 5 dogs, the characters and DPs, even a 30 cultist line will go down easily in one shot. **

Nurglings pose a worse speed bump, with their 5++, 5+ FNP. It takes more than 10 dogs to scratch out a 3 nurgling unit.
30 rolls, 20 hits, 17 to 18 wounds. No Hellblade fun for 2 point wounds.
5++ leaves 12 wounds
5+ FNP deals 8 wounds.
One stoopid Nurgling base left.

This requires a DP or BloodMaster to help, but this exposes them to an easier counter punch by opponent. I would rather have these key buffage units a bit further back. Thus far, I have not encountered an enemy daemon list with Nurglings. They're out there (at my local event) but I just haven't drawn those dudes yet.

I've used the concept for 3 events now (a GT and 2 RTTs). And yes, I get to charge the yummy stuff, Swarm Lord, other DPs, Morty, etc. The biggest difference since LVO is that BSB is eliminating soup, so the CSM element had to go. Buh-bye sorcerers, cultists and Warp Talons. *sigh*

Overall, I am able to clean off the bubble wrap well enough, every game ... it's not over extending by allowing a character or DP to get counter slugged that has been an issue. And then the glass hammer sits in ... I used to have one porky unit of 29 BLs, now I'm going to try 3 units of 19 (been buying and painting BLs).

**Then I have to make certain the dogs take the brunt of enemy shooting and I haven't failed in character positioning, wrapping them with dogs. Next turn, is BL show time.

So, besides, this (hasn't actually happened) speculation, thank you, (sincerely) eldritchstormer and orkswubwub, any other tweaks to think of?
