Something a bit different from YG studios today.

It was about time I got some Cavalry for Mesopotamia, here is attempt No 1. Obscure figures from Minifigs of all people.

A nice addition to the collection but I will need a few more before they become useful. Wish there was more figures avaliable for WW1 in the East.

Lovely as ever. What colour are you using for the uniforms by the way? I really need to get cracking with the painting on mine.

Also those appear to be Arab conscripts. Many changed sides when they were captured by the British/Arabs. Do you know what they wore? Did they revert to full traditional arab clothing or did they keep some or all of their Ottoman uniform, or did the British supply new uniforms?

[edit] Typos fixed.

Hi,

I used Vallejo Khaki for the uniform with a highlight of 50 50 khaki and buff with a final buff highlight and a wash of Army Painter Strong Tone.

The head dress is the only option without a headswap sadly, these troops would be Arabs in Turkish Service rather than local Arab Tribes and from my limited info on them they appear to have performed as well as any other Turkish Cavalry.

Arab Irregulars are the ones who would regularly change sides, they would be dressed in their own local clothing rather than any uniform and have a real mix match of weapons.

Regards Ken
