Iam a bit confused regarding what this scheme is supposed to be. I assumed it was the default scheme and specifically the one Morathi is painted in. But the example shows the Melusi with green snake bodies instead of purple?

The scheme is red/black/gold. The snake bodies are green, as is the medusa, probably becasue (IIRC) taking the medusa as a general makes the Melusai battleline, so it was probably done so they can use them together, with a bit of variation in colour. Plus the art work shows them with green scales but with red/gold/black.

I don't think it matters. Snakes come in all sorts of colours and patterns, I'm sure its even more varied for fantasy snake women.
