So, wife wants Primaris Marines in her Lamenters army...Is there any new fluff for them anywhere (I really don't want to buy more Space Marine crap...) and their current whereabouts?

-STS

Grey Knights 712 points Imperial Stormtroopers 3042 points Lamenters 1787 points Xenomorphs 995 points 1200 points + 1790 points 770 points 369 points of Imperial Guard to bolster the Sisters of Battle

Last I heard was that they were essentially extinct, and didn't show up to Dante's call for all successor chapters to come back to Baal.

But I'm sure if you ask a GW rep they'll come up with some fluff reason why you should buy more Primaris models.

They probably did get rebuilt as a Primaris Chapter.

So this is from http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Lamenters

993.M41 - While Lamenters fought with the Hive Fleet Kraken, following them Red Hunters also suffered losses.[9] The Lamenters eventually prevailed in the conflict.[11]

and also

Despite their brutal war against the Tyranids, the Lamenters have emerged victorious and their Chapter Master claims that they have only grown stronger.[11]

These coming from codex Blood Angels 8th ed.

This is from the wiki.

The Hunters Turned (993.M41) - After the Lamenters engage Hive Fleet Kraken, there were barely three companies' worth of Battle-Brothers surviving. The Red Hunters Chapter suffered losses too, for the task force assigned to track the Lamenters on their century-long Penitent Crusade by order of the Senatorum Imperialis also had to make a stand against the Hive Fleet.

Where upon threre is a picture of a Lamenter Primaris Marine

So according to the 8th edition Blood Angles codex and sources citing it and official artwork showing a primaris Lamenter we have them surviving the penitent crusade and being reinforced with Primaris Marines of Blood Angles gene line.

Party on dudes!

See? You don't even need to ask a GW Rep. There's already a reason to buy those shiny new Primaris Models! Primaris for everyone!

Except for you, Grey Knights. You suck.

Eh, Primaris GK would a, require new sculpts due to the nature of GK armour; and b, would require far more conditioning and testing than "Cawl stuck us in a box for 10k years"...

This is, emphatically, why I will continue suggesting nuking Guard and starting over again. It's a legacy army that needs to be rebooted with a new focal point.

Confirmation of why no-one should listen to Kanluwen when it comes to the IG - he doesn't want the IG, he want's Kan's New Model Army...

Well, not everyone.

Knights of Blood get wiped out in the Devastation of Baal story and called out, explicitly, as not receiving any primaris "reboot" despite a number of other chapters lost in the conflict getting in essence re-started thanks to Guilliman's Unnumbered Sons.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

To be fair, they were a renegade Chapter who came back to fight with their genetic brethren.
