Hi guys. I've found this thread quite useful in my planning of a SW force and a return to 40k.

I've now finalised my 2k list and thought I'd share it for your critique! Hopefully will be bringing this to the table soon to test out.

I really wanted to get a crusader in here but it's just too expensive. I also initially had a spearhead detachment using 3x cyberwolves but scrapped it to get the 6th wulfen.

Tactics:

BC units will drop in with WGBL and Lukas. WGBL having leadership warlord trait should help boost any morale tests negating Lukas-1 within 3inch. I didn't see the wolf priest adding much to the party over the WGBL. Figured splitting the BC into two packs would also boost the plasma capability. They're now setup for a boat load of attacks after charge (assuming both units make it) but also have some decent plasma capability to worry more than grunts.

Njal I'll walk behind Bjorn and venerable. If he can pull of the cover modifier in the psychic phase it'll help them stay alive as they advance up the table. His 18" range for jaws and wrath should also help. He's a slow mover in termi armour so walking with the dreads should be fine.

Wolflord is to run behind the wulfen. He's pretty epic and being able keep up and stay 6inch away from the wulfen should net him and extra attack once the wulfen are in CC. That group should be capable of dealing some serious damage to elites/heavys.

Predator for heavy support. Would have liked a bit more than this but points wouldn't allow it. I'll just need to be careful to protect it and possibly keep njal in reserve for deepstrike. Need to see how it plays out.

Grey Hunters I hope to hold close to the pred. They'll hold objective on my side of the table and hopefully with their load out can defend themselves. I can always pull back the wolflord to assist if needed. That moment allowance on bike is pretty epic. Tempted to shave a few points elsewhere and get a razorback to support them.

Really looking forward to getting this to the table and having some fun with it.

The wolf priest is way better than the WGBL IMHO, because he can give the re-rolls on wulfen. Since blood claws love the wulfen aura the wolf priest should be in range to give his aura to wulfen as well.

1-2 single cyberwolves can help in your list since you have really a few units on the ground. I'd cut some upgrades on the grey hunters squad, I'd just keep the plasma gun actually and maybe a combi plasma on the leader, making the unit cheaper.

Priest is good for the wulfen but with that strat I'll have all BC and Wulfen in the same area. That's limiting my scope for objectives with a heavy concentration in one area and no hard hitting unit to go after heavys. Also with the BC in the air the wulfen will be prime tgt walking up the board.

The priest might give re roll to the wulfen but the wolf Lord does the very same and with 4(+1) attacks with relic (s6, -3, d3) he'll do a lot more damage than the priest.

Yeah, the cybers are good for quick objective grabbing. I'll take up that suggestion and maybe thin out the GH. Although dropping one wulfen would give me back x3 cyber and an extra CP....

Edit: if I remove Lukas for wolf priest I'll need to re-org and change vanguard for spearhead (cybers), CP will remain the same.

Another option would be to drop Lukas and take a wolf priest instead. I'd still be re rolling 1s to help the plasma, LD would be increased for BC automatically and I could assign warlord to another character. The WGBL rerolling wounds i think is pretty significant whilst either Lukas or priest buffing hits.

Ok, now tweaked with wolf priest and cyberwolf included....

Jump pack on the priest is expensive (only 3pts on the WGBL) but giving him a pack instead of putting him in the flyer means he is guaranteed to keep up with the wulfen if I drop them beside the claws with stratagem.

WGBL had to have a jump pack due to lack of room in the flyer. Think this might be a good thing as will give him better movement when bc/wulfen charge and move around the board quicker if needed.

Decided to totally rework this. Now believe it's a stronger force capable of holding ground better than with the BC.

Intercessor for holding mid-back table, two pred/GH teams for flanks, cybers available for quick obj grab and deny deepstrike, WG and WP with jump packs for behind enemy lines along with arjac and wulfen deployed using stratagem. Njal/bjorn/venerable foot slogging as before.

Lost my flyer but feel its a more solid force.
