It depends on whether you have built the models and how you built them. For something a little different:

Catacomb Command Barge with VOD
Cryptek with cloak
Lord with staff of light (the Overlord that comes with the CCB is a great proxy)
10 Immortals with Tesla
10 Warriors
5 Lychguard with Shields
3 wraiths - stock
3 Scarabs

993 Pts. Total

Lord is Warlord with the trait to ignore morale checks. Overlord zaps up the board with Lychguard using deep strike, Wraiths aim to surge forward to ideally assault, fall behind enemy lines then re-assault characters. Scarabs used to pinch objectives or support Cryptek who can either hang back to help keep your troops alive, or push forward to catch up with CCB and give the Lychguard a better RP to keep them in the fight.

Keep 1 RP aside to assault the wraiths after advance and perhaps another to add the Cryptek into reserves to deploy with the Veiled Lychguard rather than footslog.

Thank you. I have not built any of my models yet. Got everything today. I wanted some input before I glued anything together.

Great. Why do you prefer Gauss over Tesla on the Immortals?

In that case, Magnetise your Annihilation Barge would be my first suggestion which it really easy to do. For the Immortals, go Tesla (Gauss out performs in Rapid Fire but only against 3+ saves and Tesla benefits much more from the Overlords MWBD and the Mephrit Dynasty in my opinion vs overall opponents.

i would also suggest magnetising the arms on the Overlords - the leftover stuff from the Lychguard and the future leftovers will allow you to swap their weapons out such as Voidblades and a Staff of Light (Rod of Covenent from Lychguard make excellent Staffs of light and one of the sprue handles is 1-handed)

Wraiths I would stick with stock but if you work it right, you could magnetise the guns - however this is a pain.

Any units that would be better to use? There is still time to buy other stuff. The things listed above is just what I have at home.

You don't have a lot of anti-tank. Finding a Doomsday Ark or Triarch Stalker before the tournament are both great in 1000 points as they are durable with QS and new ignore damage stratagem. DDA are great as they have mobile modes with the low-power profile and gauss flayer arrays. Great with Sautekh.

Also try to plus up unit sizes where possible to maximize Reanimation Protocols. RP is also potent in 1000-point matches as its tougher for the opponent to focus things down.

Why doesn't the points in the codex match the ones from Forgebane booklet?

I think they released a FAQ specifically for Forgebane to address that issue.

Played a practice game against a friends Tyranids yesterday and wow, it was terrible. I played

Overlords on command barge
Warscythe, VOD and immortal pride trait

Cryptek with staff and cloak

Lord with staff

10 Warriors

5 Immortals with tesla

5 Immortals with tesla

5 Lychguard with sword and shield

3 Wraiths

3 Scarabs

I had 6 CP and Mephrit dynasty. He got first turn , I tried to seize but failed. I used a CP for reroll and failed again. He blasted away my Warriors, one Immortal unit and the Lord. Dont remember what else it was but at the end of turn 1 he had 7 points. First blood and held 3 objectives.

I rushed with my Wraiths and Cryptek on one flank and Scarabs parked on a objective. The Overlord used the veil with Lychguard and got behind enemy lines giving me 1 point. There was some combats but there wasn't really much I could do so it ended 7 to 1.

I learned some things and I am already working on my new list. I have to use the same models this sunday because I don't have anything else. But list 2.0 will see a total revamp so that I really can make good use of the Mephrit Code. The synergies did not work well with this list.
