My friends are buying into this and a cursory search didn't bring it up so I thought I'd post this here.
Game seems fun. I signed up just because I wanted to see how the model
Skye turns out. The models are the same scale as ye olde Inquisitor, which means
the detail is beautiful, but yes it's more expensive. Good thing you only (yeah, I know
how that one goes) need 3 models.
I also backed this one because there are models in the line that I wanted to paint, so I
want their second kickstarter to succeed.
I can't speak to the actual game itself much. I've only watched a little game play myself.
Plus, any game world where Minotaur is a central race (there are some among
the original 12 released models and a few more slated for this release) is okay with me.

I've played this a bit and I think its a really good game, but I think its probably priced itself out of relevance. I really want to buy in; I really like the game, but I have no idea who else would be willing to invest.
I want to stress that I think the game here is really good. They don't do a very good job of selling the gameplay, but it essentially comes down to gathering resources (souls) that spawn on the table that you also get by destroying enemy models. The more you have, the more the max health of the enemy spawn point (which regenerates to full health each round) drops until you're able to destroy it and win the game. In some ways, the game feels a bit like Guild Ball towards the end, with each player playing defensive until they get in range to finish things with a go for broke final score.
I just really, really wish that as much thought was put into making the game marketable as was obviously put into the artistic design of the models and gameplay. They've pushed it as a 5v5 game with each player needing 7 to play "correctly" from the beginning and their starter pack is over a hundred dollars for 2 models, without any useful gimmies like maybe the NPC that's part of the game normally.
It's a game with a ton of potential that definitely fills an interesting niche. My fear is just that its launch hasn't been fast enough to stave off competitors like Godtear to really make it. :(

Yeah, it's an expensive game for sure.
Looks like discount games pushed it over the top, so it's backed

Thanks for the comment and feedback. It is something we hear often and it is kind of a bi-product of our decision to both produce a great game and the best quality miniatures we could. In a market where most miniatures games companies are moving toward lower quality to reduce price, we have a more traditional view of playing with fantastic quality, and amazing looking models. And yeah it does deter some people from jumping onto the game, however we are still growing, and having our wave 2 kickstarter fund a few hours ago we have the ability to continue to develop and grow the Judgement player base.
Despite maintaining our view of producing the highest quality models we can, we are looking at lowering the barrier of entry somewhat. Our new starter box (available as an add-on in our Kickstarter) does have 2 high quality plastic heroes as well as the Gloom shadow hound monster included, which is better value, and our main player base still plays the 3v3 version of the game, which requires just 5 hero models to play.
In the end, I am agreeing that our game does not compare, price wise, to something like Godtear, or the myriad of CMON games that get churned out a couple of times a year. However the quality of our miniatures absolutely leaves them in the shade and we are a small company, based in Australia, trying to get ourselves out there, so we are not really operating from the same playing field. Sticking to our original design principles and mission statement will mean we will be a slow grow game. However we are not in a rush, not in it for a quick buck and are here for the long haul to establish and maintain a strong base of modellers, painters and competitive tournament players.
Regards,
Andrew

I think you could have done both without making the large leap into 54mm. I believe 35mm is the next 'evolution' as we have already started to move away from 28mm, which has crept up to 32mm for most games. 35mm can still mix decently with 32mm, providing no heroic scale and still provide superior quality miniatures to gamers.
At the same time, you could have also done "Hero 54mm" but as a separate product or enhancement. This would have allowed the middle ground, lowered entry price point and still provided the best quality miniatures and even better for those who wanted to paint, collect and have larger.

The scale is always something that gets discussed however for low model skirmish games, I absolutely believe 54mm is the correct scale, it just plays and looks so much nicer. I actually skirmish games will move more towards 54mm, a lot of people flat out said it (54mm)could not be done for anything other than display models however we pushed through that barrier. To be honest we are happy where we currently are. We have a small, yet growing, player base and we have a lot of our miniatures getting painted by some of the world's best painters and streamers. Sure, we have plans to grow into a bigger games company, however for now we are in a good place. As I said, funding a second Kickstarter in 2 years is a nice platform to build from. Our intention is to go straight to retail with future releases however we now have a MOBA style game with 28 heroes and 4 monsters. which provides an excellent pool of options for our players to choose from.

Thanks for the reply.
I have gotten to see the models first hand and the quality is absolutely terrific. Marcus and Piper are simply some of the nicest models I've seen. Hoping to see more on that level from Wave 2.
After posting I looked into the Kickstarter again and was glad to notice the 2P starter has been updated with Gloom. A box set with some value adds to feel like a more complete experience goes a long way. Similarly I think emphasizing the 3v3 both in marketing in design will help entice people. Most people I've talked to assume that games really don't shine until you play it at the full size, so I think there's a lot to gain from focusing on the 3v3 for a while.
Best of luck going forward. I do hope the game continues to grow and gets its chance to really take off. I've quite enjoyed what I've played so far.
