Subject: Dark Angels robes?

Hi! I was thinking about giving a Dark Angel Tactical Squad some personality, by giving them some robes and hoods.
From what I understand, robes are given to veterans. But does it make sense to use it on Tactical Marines?
Could you argue that some of the Marines could have a degree of veteran status, but still be fielded in a Tactical Squad, instead of a Veteran Squad?
(Should I have posted this in another subforum? Not sure if this counts as a modeling or lore.)

Your army, your lore. Fluff it that they are particularly devout and determined DAs but remain in a Tactical Squad as penance for letting a Fallen escape, or to honour a slain comrade.

Just build them as you like them. As long as it isn't confusing for your opponent you don't need to justify your modeling choices.

All my special weapon marines wear robes, be them veterans or just tactical squads.
Most of my tactical squad sargeants wear them too.
0 problems from even hardcore Dark Angels fans. Robes and winged helmets are why most people play this chapter.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Yup, I have a full company and about 30 or so of my guys wear robes regardless of their rank. I try to put at least 2 in every squad of 10, usually the sergeant or one of the upgraded weapons, but there’s plenty of random Bolter dudes wearing robes. Every non jump pack character is rocking a robe.
Robes and plasma fetish is what makes Dark Angels awesome.
