All of this Primaris hype has got me eager to start a new Space Marine army, this time being Primaris only. However, this time, instead of taking an existing Chapter, I'd love to create a custom one, founded in the new Ultima Founding (and thus being an all-Primaris Chapter).
My main ideas of background will come from their leader - I'm going to be giving the "Primaris promotion" to my long-time Ultramarine Acting-Captain Aurelius, and letting him take over this new Primaris descendants of the Ultramarines.

However, I'm struggling a little on colour scheme. A lot of my armies have black colours (my Scions, Knights and Deathwatch all use black as a main colour), my Cadians are standard green/drab, my Tank regiment is grey, my Grey Knights are silver as always, and my Ultras are - three guesses - blue, so I'd quite like to avoid those colours as primary ones if possible. Ideally, I'd want a scheme that's easy to spray on (so a main base colour), and something that might tie into the Ultramarines subtly (like a blue shoulder pad or something), but really, I'm all ears. What custom schemes do you think might work out?

Perhaps a light colour (white/bone/light grey) with some blue details, like the chest eagle and shoulder pad(s) might work well? It contrasts from most of your black armies, and also a light colour would provide good contrast to the blue details (ref. Novamarines, Sons of Guilliman making use of that contrast). You could make the blue darker than standard ultras blue to make it a bit different and make the link not quite so obvious perhaps.

A rich golden yellow would also go well with some blue details, though I know it would be a pain to paint for any bits you couldn't just spray.

Gold's certainly nice - how about a main light-ish grey base, with blue pads and gold accents? With typical company markings for a codex chapter?

Easy to spray? Well, i think a striking & effective Color scheme is that of the Sigmarines. Maybe something similar, a warm Gold & shoulder, Helm & Kneepads in a muted blue with lighter blue highlights.

Something like Gold Spray, Reikland or Carroburg wash, Incubi darkness as base for the darker blue & lighter blue highlights. Something similar to the Celestial Lions. Or ditch the gold spray and use Leadbealcher instead and go for a lighter blue - Astral Knights & Silver Eagles like.

Gold worries me as being too close to the Celestial Lions, but the silver sounds solid? Perhaps even grey?

You could also do the silver with a deeper, richer blue like Royal or Cobalt blue.. Or go further down the spectrum and use Navy or Prussian blue..
