A quick question on something that got me confused a little.

The misericordia shows up in the close combat weapons roster and has its own stats and it states "you can make one additional attack" with it each time the bearer fights.

Does that mean a model with a misericordia as its only cc weapon can use it for all its regular attacks and then make an additional attack with it? Or does it have only one attack with the misericordia as that would seriously gimp allarus vexilia praetors?

It's a blingy golden chainsword. You don't have to make any base attacks with it (though you can if you want), and you'll always get 1 bonus attack that must be done with the Misercordia.

It works exactly like a chainsword.

You get one extra attack with its profile.

If you have a better weapon, use that first, then get one misericordia attack.

If you have no melee weapon (such as a storm shield vexilla), you use all your attacks +1 with the misericordia.

As a quick note you cannot claim an extra attack with the misericordia if you are using a storm shield, which means while it still has use on vexilla troops armed with storm Shields (as they don't have any other weapon if they carry a storm shield and as such use the misericordia as their main weapon) it is completely useless on sentinel blade + storm shield infantry as they cannot claim the extra attack. Guardian spears and castellian axe armed troops will still allow you the extra attack however, same with praetors armed with their lances.

Watch out for other custodes players trying to claim a misericordia attack with sentinel blade + storm shield troops. A notorious WAAC player in our club tried this a few weeks ago and luckily I was there to call him out on his gak. Its rare, but keep your wits about you!
