Hello, my fellow Conscripts!

So I'm fairly new to guard (former Necron player, obviously) I was reading some tactica on 1d4chan, and heavy weapon squads were a focus for me. They are relatively cheap but die easily. A solution was to have them in squads so that they don't die as fast, but would it be better to take a punisher or what? I'm leaning towards more models. What do you think?

Life posed its challenges. The Emperor gave us Punisher Cannons.

The Punisher, especially with a Tank Commander or Pask will eat enemy infantry. It’s probably about the single most dangerous unit in the Codex IMO when you can protect it.

I like Heavy Weapons Teams with Lascannons or Missile Launchers, but be aware they will not last very long if your opponent starts shooting them. They will live longer if you put them in infantry squads, but they aren’t maximizing Orders that way. If you can give them orders and shoot 2 or 3 times before they die they will put down some hurt. I don’t think they’re as good with anti infantry weapons. Yes they’re cheap, but Punishers and Hellhounds kill dudes better and last a lot longer.
