Current I have been running a 1000 pt necron army with friends for the past 2 years because I could afford to update it at the time. Now that I have the funds to update and expand my army I am debating on a 2500 point army or a 3000 point army . I have been watching videos on 2000 points and 2500 points and notice not many armies have that many flier or dedicated transports.

Here is my current list:
2438 points
Battalion Detachment
1 Catacomb Command Barge
Warscythe
Resurrection Orb
1 Crypek
Canoptek Cloak
1 Crypek
Canoptek Cloak
20 Necron Warriors
20 Necron Warriors
10 Immortals
6 Tomb Blades
Gauss Blaster
Shieldvanes
Nebuloscope
1 Doomsday Ark
1 Doomsday Ark

Outrider Detachment
1 Destroyer Lord
Warscythe
Resurrection Orb
6 Destroyers
9 Canoptek Scarabs
9 Canoptek Scarabs
6 Canoptek Wraiths
Particle Caster

If you can convert your Ghost Arks to doomsday arks that would help you loads - its not too tough to magnetise them and swap when you want. I'm guessing they are already made up.

The next step should be to max your warrior and immortal units. Either make one unit of 20 warriors, or get 20 more and make two units. Getting more warriors means more scarabs which are great.

Getting 15 more immortals would do you well - 5 more gauss, then 10 tesla. More tesla immortals might work - they seem to be strong.

The best unit if you're following the current tactic thread would be a tesseract vault. Too much money for my liking, but game wise it seems a strong choice.

A command barge with a lightning field is pretty good. Generally people don't seem to like annihilation barges, but I don't have lots of tesla immortals, so they're good in my book.

Crypteks are a must. So useful. One with a cloak is a good choice, but as you hit 2.5-3k having 2 or 3 of them is helpful.

The new getting started boxes would do you well to jump you straight to 2k., Then a vault on top of that. then possibly another starter box to get you to the next stepping stone. Cheapest way to build your force. You can convert a lord into a Cryptek too.

I can actually do that to the ghost ark with the help of my friend. Haven't seen a lot of people using doomsday arks. I have been tempted to use them before. I was planning on using the vault when I found can be used outside apocalypse. I have used a command barge before and it has been very effective. Haven't had much experience annihilation barge haven't seen them used that often. Crypteks is a standard for my necron army. I was debating on using Nemesor Zahndrekh in the army

Are you playing 7ed? It seems as if you're army is in formations rather than detachments.

If so, the first thing you need to do is learn the 8ed rules- far better, easier, more fun rules (and necrons rock!)

If not however and you are playing 8ed, I recommend changing the ghost arks into DDA's- great anti tank. Get 20 more warriors, 5 more immortals, a catacomb command barge (the new start collecting would be perfect) as well as 6 destroyers, a destroyer lord, a cryptek and more scarabs. This will end up looking like this:
Battalion
Catacomb command barge
Cryptek
20 warriors
20 warriors
10 immortals
2 DDA's

Outrider
Destroyer lord
6 destroyers
Scarabs
Scarabs

A decent list!

Yes, I'm playing 8th edition. I was confused by the comment you made then realize that was 7th edition formation chart instead of 8th edition detachment chart. Was actually debating on adding destoryer in.

If you can magnetize the Ghost Arks or somehow make it so you can swap between DDA and GA, the 10-warriors plus GA can be interesting.

Your list doesn't really have enough to justify the spyder. You'd be better off fleshing out either the scarabs, Tomb Blades, or the Immortals. In 1000 points, you might be able to get away without anti-tank if you can tarpit the other guy's heavies.

Me and buddy are planning on doing that to the GA/DDA. I'm a little confused on your response. I'm updating my list so can plan 2500 and 3000 point army.
