So I found this model, it’s a rock golem with four arms, holding two swords, and is the exact size of a Daemon Prince. I want to put wings on it, but I am short of ideas on what wings for a rock creatire would even look like. Feathers, menbranes, mechanical are all out.

Any suggestions?

Have a specific God in mind? You have eliminated both "wings" and "not wings" so we're getting pretty limited on flight options. Maybe a floating disc of some variety? Pretty Tzeench'y but the only variation I can think of that you haven't said no to so far.

Or just take the normal membrane wings and paint them with Agrellan Earth (or some other cracking paint).
Or paint the normal membrane wings like this:

A rock Golan with mechanical.steampunk style wings would look pretty goodni think.

Alternatively some.kimd.of.magical.rock.growth out of.the legs or back painted as if they are glowing?

I like the idea that Tim 121RVC posted with the Graveyard golem, and having like, twisted steel/metal spring up from the golem's back.


Alternatively, what if you have just a sort of collection of rune'd rocks 'floating' around the back, sort of like:

You could start with bat wings, and cover the membranes in a mossy like cover to give them a textured look that suggests the wings are stone.

I like the idea of levitating boulders, perhaps him springing off one...but I'm not even beyond entry-level modelling. My paint game is decent, but conversions I've tried usually break, so I don't think I'm good enough to pull that off.

Maybe I'll try something out anyhow and see what happens. Prolly need styrofoam rocks...carve some runes on them.

But if I used wire to connect them together, the whole thing would just be wobbly....

Yeah, I was going to say having the wings stick out from under the arms would be a distinctive point for a rock monster. Almost like a cape, but maybe with some rigging that sells the idea they spread out.
