Heh. I've been watching the ebay/facebook sales groups in curiosity. Lots of Hive Tyrants for sale, but few whole armies. Surprisingly, not even many dark talons or Grey Knights for sale. I'm starting to think that people vent on Dakka and then have completely different opinions on this game IRL.

This should probably be a different topic as I didn't get the point of the thread at first, but I'm pretty much done at this point. I think I'm going to keep the Primaris I picked up for the sake of painting and my GK on the off chance the game makes sense in another five years, and purge the rest.

Thats because Tournament X is rubbish. Tournament Y which supports my claim is better.

It's not unreasonable for people to believe that GamesWorkshop MAY reverse their ruling; and as a result, are holding onto their armies, just in case.

We'll see what happens next FAQ/ChapterApproved.

Some people hold onto their armies because of sentimentality, love for the hobby (painting/modeling), or because they hold hope that a future update/edition will make them relevant again (which shoudn't be expected).

I seriously just want to play a freaking game of 4k! That's all I want to do! But I'm forced to take stupid competitive style lists so my opponent can actually have fun! When ever I bring a fluffy list I die turn 1 and they stand their and apologise for like 30 minutes. They don't even bring good lists! They just had the armies that got mega buffed by 8th edition. XD

Pls GW, just make the game casual and make a separate team for tournament 40k... I just want to build and play with plastic models!

Played against a lot of Renegades and Heretics or Corsair armies, have you?

Yeah, they beat me up, too.

Literally only Eldar and Imperial Guard exist as armies, proving all your points wrong!

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

WHAT!? As an eldar player I can definitively prove that eldar codex is 10% overpriced in literally every unit. All tournament data is skewed because the only eldar wins were made by 3rd ed Veterans.

Evidence:
Long list of eldar abilities that have been shared to space marines now.
Direct comparisons of costs that proves eldar pay more for fewer and weaker plasma.
Long biased paragraph about brightlances always being overpriced missile launcher.
Fire dragons only appear op to n00bs. Why bring 10 meltas when you can bring 3 and 7 cannon fodder.
Long rant about how t3 is hurt by new toughness chart somehow.
Eldar psychics keep getting nerfed! Our best powers in the world are only pretty awesome and it broke the whole game. Complaint that GK with the weakest power can outperform.

Summary that also adds that eldar used to be a finesse army requiring tactics and how playing them feels dumber nowadays. Somehow this happening to eldar represents the state of the game as a whole. 10 yr player threatens to quit if jump shoot jump doesn't return on jetbikes.

Your suggested tactic/unit is rubbish. Any player worth their salt will counter/destroy it immediately.

(no allowance for mission/existence of rest of army/terrain made)

My tactic/unit is great.

(no reason all players no longer worth their salt given.)

This post is way too specific for this thread. Tone it down and just throw some salt, brah!

Try:

Faction X is completely unplayable now because model Y now costs +20 points!

Eldar always have had a special callout in these arguments! I'm within the realm of reasonable. Also I didn't start the eldar thing! Did you even read my post!? It has the quote!
