So it looks as if FW are canning the Elysians and aspects of the Solar Auxilia.

What could this be an indication of? New GW plastic range or are they just not selling?

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.

Or developers simply not finding motivation for them. Remember GW doesn't can armies just because army doesn't sell. If that was only requirement squats wouldn't have been squatted.

Didn't Solar Auxilia start off as Edgar Skomorowski's personal army? Now he's left perhaps no-one want to adopt it.

I don't think they will be canning the entire Solar Auxilia, given that the banner on the main FW homepage is advertising a new Solar Auxilia transport, the Aurox Pattern Armoured Transport

OF course the text blurb there mentions imperial army as the prime user...Solar auxilia is "oh and they too".

I i do think they are canning things that don't sell.
DKOK are everywhere, not Elysian. Do you what they are canning in the Auxilia range ? Medics at 60£, crew...
It is very sad, I have always wanted some Elysian troopers, and I can't buy them now...

Sad that the Elysians are going byebye, I liked them.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Vigo. Spain.

Elysians always seemed very underwhelming for me. Their artwork is cool but the miniatures are pretty bad.

Solar Auxilia in the other hand is the best Imperial Guard regiment (I know they aren't a regiment) out there in the TOP1, with Krieg and Vostroyan First Borns being Top 2 and 3.

I would love for them to make them in plastic. At first I wanted to make a solar auxilia army, then I wrote an army, cried a little, and throw it to the bin. Then I tought "Whell I can make an army of Tempestus Scions and just use the Command Squad, the best part of the Solar Auxilia range), but then that squad is MORE expensive than the Adeptus Custodes Achillus Dreadnought (I own one, and one galatus) that at least for meseems insane.
Paying 80€ por 6 human sized models that will make for something like 100 points of an army, at least for me, isn't worth it.

I could go and buy from a recaster but I don't like to do that. If I really like something but I don't think its worth the money they are asking for it, I just don't buy it. They are just miniatures afterall.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I like the Eysians. I feel bad for them, I think they've been wiped out in every action. They're cool, though. I like the Tauros Venator, and their general aesthetic.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Glad I have a bunch of elysian stuff.

The Venators look good and still have pretty good rules.

A twin LC deepstriking. Moves fast and gets a 5++? Yeah pretty good

I think FW rules harmed them these past editons, it may be why people didn't buy a lot.

Typical GW... won't even put them on sale for one last good bye.

Not a big surprise. They stopped making the Tauros a while ago. Not much love for the Elysians. I'd buy some now, but I feel like that would be supporting bad business practice. Oh well.

I've always felt that too - their fluff is cool, but the models look like the blokes from M.A.S.K and I don't think I've ever seen anyone using them, even in online batreps.

Will be funny to see this done to SoB metal figures. It's always nice to have metal models because it's history of GW but buying them new is kinda weird.

Well, I sprang for a $30 weapon sprue, for my distinctively non-Elysian Rogue trader house troops. Since bullpups make sense in close quarters on a space ship.

On the up side, recasters will be making a killing.

Disappointing, but I can see why they did it. I thought about picking up some more Elysians until I remembered why most of what I bought years ago is still collecting dust unbuilt: the models are just hell to build. The heads have terrible alignment, half the models are stuck in weird poses, and the special weapons all require careful cutting and splicing of the handles (instead of being built into the arms like DKoK). Cool concept, but frustrating execution.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Didn't a tourney winning list bring Elysians at the beggining of 8th? Purely to exploit deepstrike plasma shenanigans.

Are you kidding? I wish they built more without the arms on so I can put them on on non-GW minis like Victoria's.

Just one more reason to buy from re-casters. Cool.

Recasters are already tossing out the Elysian heavy bolter teams for $24 for three, as opposed to FW's $45 for the same at lower quality.

No, after many long years of GW forcing absurd prices on us, sometimes at a 500% markup over cost, threatening legal action on us for promoting their products, lying, and generally abusing the community, attacking manufacturers of bits when GW themselves would not... it's a long list and frankly, no, a lot of people have no problem with it at this point.

You're right- I don't care. GW/FW is welcome to make their product competitive at any time.

Anyway, an instance where the company is literally stating that they will no longer be selling these models is a weird hill to die on for recast morality.

Whenever they run out.

Also, weirdly, Drop Sentinels are among the 'high demand' things that FW has struggled to keep in stock, so why they're being phased out with the rest is a good question atm.

It could be that the mould is in a poor state and needs special care to get a good cast out of it - and they're simply not selling enough to redo it.

Since this has been an ongoing issue since they introduced it, I'm a bit dubious. That and they have notice on it that the issue was increased demand meant they could not be shipped fast enough.

Part of the reason Elysians didn’t sell well is recasters and the people who buy from them. But whatever there are thieves and cheats in every hobby.
I never got into Elysians and when they had overpowered rules I only saw people proxy the models but I did buy 2 venatiors because they were cool looking and I wanted to build two armies to actually play IA8.

Maybe, maybe not. Someone willing to spend $15 on models from a recaster might not spend the $75 FW charges just because recasts aren’t available. Some, sure. But I wonder exactly how many.
