So, I have two ideas for an 1000 point list for Militarum Tempestus right now. Ideally, I would like to expand this into a Primaris Raven Guard/Militarum Tempestus 2000 point army in the future.

I would like to hear which list people think would probably be more competitive, while also being better for integrating later into a SM army.

Basically more commissars for more troops on field for deepstrike, and they discourage attackers. There is more dakka in this with more Gatling cannons.

Replace the Commissars from the last list with another missile Taurox Prime so I would have more anti-Armour for this list, and I would have more anti-Armour for the potential 2000 point lost in the future. (I still haven’t gotten a hold of any magnets.)

it's a pretty standard looking tempestus list. I think it'll work the way you're planning. Just remember that using the FAQ you'll have to wait until turn 2 to drop your guys outside of your deployment zone.

I do have one suggestion. Take one of the tempestor primes, your two commissars, and one command squad and use it as a vanguard detachment for +1 cp. It won't change your list at all.

Thanks for the advice. I have changed the list to that format to reflect this. This also has helped me decide on some aesthetic choices for this army. Thanks!

One thing I had to confront when I added Scions to my list was how to use relics to extend orders. I eventually settled on the Laurels of Command and Kurov's Aquila for my two Primes, but you might go a different route once you imagine how you'll deploy them and order them around.

I do look at my lists now and realize that I am stuck with my old strategy of having both Primes have three orders. I figured that one would drop in with the Command squads for Take Aim, and the other would buff up a ten-man squad with four hot-shot volley guns. Thank you.
